DFW offers Nick Diaz fight with Machida at 185

<p>UFC president Dana White took part in a fundraiser in Boston today for the <a href="http://www.thorntonfoundation.org/" target="_blank">Shawn Thornton Foundation</a>, which raises awareness, funds innovative research, and helps to relieve the burden and improve the quality of life for patients striken with Parkinsons and cancer. During a special Q&A, White revealed that if Nick Diaz wants to unretire, he can fight Lyoto Machida, in an intriguing boxing vs. karate match up.</p>
Machida is game to drop to 185, now that teammate Anderson Silva is no longer the middleweight title holder. White previously indicated a desire to match Machida with VItor Belfort, also at 185, but Belfort has said repeatedly he only wants to fight at 185 if the title is on the line.
"I talked to Diaz today, and I made him an offer, so we'll see what happens," White said. "He had been talking about going to 185 pounds. Machida has been talking about going to 185 pounds. So we wanted to see if he wanted to fight Machida at 185."
"I wanted Machida to fight Vitor Belfort, but Vitor Belfort is his own matchmaker, apparently. He wants to make his own fights."
And what does the notoriously mercurial Diaz camp have to say?
"They said they'd get back to me," said White.
