Chael Sonnen was scheduled to fight Vitor Belfort at Saturday's UFC 175, but following two failed out of contest drug tests, he withdrew from the fight, and eventually retired.

UFC president Dana White was asked over the weekend how

"He's laying low man," said White. "He's apologized, and he's going to live his life, and he's doing his thing up (in Oregon). I asked him, I said 'Chael, do you have any money?' And he said, 'I have every dollar you ever sent me.' I said 'good for you, man. Because that's a lot of money.'"

Sonnen remains under contract with the UFC, and this will not be showing up soon at a rival promotion.

In other Gangster from Oregon news, retired UFC fighter and current color commentator Brian Stann and Sonnen have made apologized to each other.

"Just had a very long conversation w/ @sonnench," tweeted Stann. "Both apologized to one another, me for publicly criticizing him, him for PEDs. He is owning everything and very sorry, I owned being judgmental vice a friend, he has a long road ahead and I will try to assist. Both of us will use his story to continue towards clean sport in MMA, glad to hear him own it.

Good for you Chael. Phone Post 3.0

Wait, Sonnen apologized and came clean, but only to Stann?

I miss the guy, it's not the same without him.

What did Chael apologize for?
He previously claimed that he was only on this medication by Doctors orders to transition from TRT and to be able to conceive Phone Post 3.0

Respect for Chael and Stann. Glad to hear they are moving forward together in this. Love him or hate him, Sonnen makes MMA more interesting.

Well,I'm glad they made apologized to each other. It would be nice if Sonnen made apologized to the fans.

Where have you been?

I think Chael comes from money, he's never had to worry about that. Phone Post 3.0

Im curious? Why was he tested a 2nd time? Phone Post 3.0

Wasnt he already "retired" before the 2nd test? If so, why take the test? Phone Post 3.0

They probably drew a blood and urine test. Perhaps the first results were from only the urine. Or perhaps testing for all of the potentially banned substances were not complete and the NSAC released the results of what they caught him with so far at first.

Sorry he got caught?

I wonder what Dana would say about Wand now...

I think Sonnen has made enough money to retire comfortably Phone Post 3.0

I thought they were 2 tests at 2 different time. Phone Post 3.0

He was still scheduled to fight when the second test, a blood test, was administered. He retired before results were announced (of the second test, I mean).
How could he still be scheduled if he already failed? Dana/NSAC pulled him before the 2nd test. Fox dropped him after that. He lost the fight. Then lost fox. Is the way it seems in the news. Phone Post 3.0

Chael needs to go away for a while. 12-18 months and this shit will be forgotten about. Phone Post 3.0

i dont know, this kind of reads like "cheat cheat cheat, get caught, apologize, cheat cheat cheat, get caught, and apologize.

I dont really see it as being sincere. I was really looking to that fight with Wand. Him failing and Wand jumping out of the bathroom window to avoid testing for the same fight is one heck of a story.

It shows just how unprepared everyone is for this new NSAC director. With all these surprise tests it's throwing a monkey wrench into how everyone is "training". You can bet about 90% of current UFC fighters are sweating bullets trying to decide whether to keep juicing or go clean.
