                    <blockquote>

Nick Diaz was on the precipice of a move to boxing as part of his previous contract with Strikeforce. However, UFC president Dana White convinced him to sign a new deal, and a big deal at that – a shot at Georges St-Pierre's welterweight title at UFC 137.

Diaz notoriously lost the title opportunity by no-showing a press conference, and was relegated to the undercard. Then GSP injured his knee, and Diaz was back as the main event, now facing former training partner BJ Penn at UFC 137 on Saturday.

Just 72 hours before fight time, Diaz voices regret. "If I had my chance to do it over again, I would have gone back to the boxing contract."

"I would have took my punches, win or lose. Just done my job: fight and get paid."

"I'm sure [the UFC] would have had me back here, or somewhere. You want to see a pro boxer fight MMA, and then you have yourself a high-level pro boxer that's coming back. So in my opinion – I don't really think about it until it's all over with – but I figure I would have made plenty of money here, and then would have made more money later.

"It definitely would have worked out if I had done what I had set out to do."

UFC 137 airs Saturday night, live on PPV from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

He should stick to MMA. His style would not fit too well in pro boxing imo. At least not at the high levels

 Nick is trippin

go into pro boxing, thereby wasting his BJJ talent?

Blow hard bitching about money and his contract right before his fight?

I hope BJ destroys him. Phone Post

Nick being Nick.

Triathalon pro series! Phone Post

Here we go again :/ Phone Post

he's got a good point from that clip. he had a shot at a name boxer but he turned that down to get a title shot that Dana took away from him now he can't box and he doesn't have the title shot.

definitely not where his mind should be though.

stonepony - Nick proves over and over that he's a dumb street goon. Not very bright. Blowing off a title fight, the only shot he's going to get at it. Going on and on about boxing where he'd be outclassed by people who have spent their lives honing that one narrow skill. To what end? Where is the spotlight or money in boxing if you're not one of the few remaining super-stars?

It's just all around stupid.

I must have missed something, when did he blow off a title FIGHT? Phone Post

Fuck he just needs to stop being a whingy bitch and fight. That's all.

I like him, but nearly everything bad that happens, is of his own doing. Why can't he deal with his actions in life like everyone else? He plats the victim all too well and in my eyes could never become a urchin champ til he starts winning against himself .... Phone Post

Two years ago against Jay Hieron. The only one who didn't show up was Nick Diaz.

I would watch Nick take a boxing bout for sure. I would prefer to see it than hear hypotheticals. Phone Post

209ers gunna 209

TheVileOne - Two years ago against Jay Hieron. The only one who didn't show up was Nick Diaz.

I thought he blew off the drug test because he got high, not the actual fight, sarcasm intended.

I'm still a fan of his fighting regardless, all this behind the scenes studd is just to much information for me. I dont care if he gets high, skips pressers, reps 209 and acts like a "thug". I just want to see him fight. The man has skills! Phone Post

He did the right thing and doesn't even know it. He'd get tooled in boxing by average journeymen. In fact BJ is going to give him a boxing lesson Saturday.

DaHomewilder -
chaplinshouse - He doesn't want to fight BJ, he wants to love him. Share a few candies, while holding hands running through a field of dandelions on a cool October day... singing "so happy together." Get your head right Nick, this is getting sickening. You're inventing ways to cockblock your success and it must stop.
It's called respect dip shit, quit watching WWE.
what does wwe even have to do with anything he said?
