Diaz vs Kampmann?

I know Diaz is suspended and "retired" but I think this fight would have FOTN written all over. Both guys use high level technical striking, Diaz prefers boxing while Kampmann perfering to kickbox is good with his hands but does mix in excellent knees and kicks (when he's not fighting a wrestler).
Both guys have excellent JJ but I would have to give the edge to Diaz but Kampmann definitely the better wrestler. I think Kampmann could win this fight by using his footwork and opening up fully on the feet and use his wrestling to stay up or put Diaz on his back. Kampmann would definitely be a handful on top on the ground for Diaz given his wrestling and JJ. What do you guys think? Phone Post

i think diaz pretty much dominates this fight.

this is one of the best match ups the UFC could put together

Kampmann likes to get hit while moving backwards.

Diaz likes to hit people who are moving backwards.

Bad matchup for Kampmann, and that is saying something.  Kampmann matches up decently with just about everyone else in the division.

I agree but all Kampmann needs to do is move backwards faster for 5 rounds, like condit did.

Bazinga!

could be an interesting fight. I think diaz wins it.

but its a moot point at this time isnt it?

Kampman seems to be inching closer to a #1 contendership soon, and diaz may be required to win two or three fights before he gets opportunity to challenge (especially after a year long layoff)

he might be handed a #2 contender type of fight upon his return due to his prestige via talent, but I'm not sure he'll get it...

Condit laid out the gameplan to beat Nick, everyone who fights Nick from now on will use this gameplan otherwise they will lose.

Diaz subs him, as much as like Kampmann he shoots too many sloppy takedowns Phone Post

I think Nick would be a huge favorite in this fight, and for good reason. While Kampmann has been on the unfortunate side of some decisions, he has had his share of come back victories, which are part chance part guts, but I think the traits that put him on such a path will be bad news against Nick Diaz.

Having said that, I remember Nick Diaz fighting.. that british boxing dude, and that could have been a bad night for Nick too.

Fuck it, I'd watch this fight for sure, great fight.

Kampmann also has very good lateral movement and stays light on his toes, where nick likes to stalk and stay flat footed... It's one of those fights where both guys have showed resiliency and good cardio, definitely a fight that won't end in the first round. Phone Post

martin is the man hes been on a roll, shitty he got robbed in those two losses.

Kampmann wins by DQ(no show)
