To me, it looked like the 1st round (10-8 imo) simply gassed Tito out a bit.
I was very suprised to see that as Tito's cardio is fantastic, but he came in really amp'd up, and it seems he mighta just burnt himself out sprinting like he did. He usually has a high pace, but that 1st round assault was quick even for him.
Yeah Tito said himself that he only trained three times a week as opposed to his normal six due to the knee injury. Check his interview on Sherdog. He was gassed and went into survival mode.
He said in his post fight interview he did gas. He had to slow his training down due to the injury. It took alot out of him. He didnt want to pull out. He fought anyway.
Good job Tito..
no doubtTito fought awesome...but Forrest had to shock the MMA world last night hes one tough SOB..Randy just took Tito down at will just frustrating ...Vitor pushed real hard on Tito just like everyone knew...but im just sayin Goddamn Forrest just blew me away....probably just likr Tito is thinkin now...
"It wasn't scheduled for 5. Therefore your question is moot, as both fighters didn't prepare for 5. "
Word. Tito said that he wasn't able to train but 3 days a week for this fight because of his knee and still fucking whooped that ass. Tito is the real deal and I like how everyone hates on him for his 'attitude' but they all love Nick Diaz? Kind of stupid if you ask me. They also hate him for holding out but they will be the first ones to say that the UFC doesn't pay enough. I find that extremely hilarious
I have seen every Tito fight since UFC 22, and I'll tell you besides the Shamrock fight, I have never seen Tito gas. I thought he also looked a little gassed, but I think it had to do with injury. I think Tito knew his knee wasn't 100% so he went into the first round to destroy Forrest and try to end it quickly because he knew he wasn't ready to go a hard 15 minutes.
Yes IMO Tito lost stamina. Ive seen that look and those body movements a zillion times. Mouth open arms too low moves forward, wants to attack but perplexed as to why body wont respond. Many times fighter wont get it- Afterwards will blame bad soup, bad judges, bad hair knee whatever. Other fighters will say to themselves Holy shit I am lucky I got out of there alive I had better step up cardio - or figure out why I lost it.
Tito said cause of his injuries he was not 100% cardio wise and had to pace himself.could not train at full potenial.he said he trained about half he normally would have if he were free of injuries.sherdog interview is the source of this info.
I think a 100% tito would have possibly stopped forest.
