And a WW beat Mousassi, Akihiro Gono

Japanese fighters fight 100x better in Japan.

Manhoef knocked Hunt out. Phone Post

Did you guys know Mark Hunt 2.0 has never been defeated?

he got lucky with that win imo but he also beat hector lombard right before that. His last fight was at light weight and he lost to some mongolian dude.

Like I said, Gono beat some of the best fighters in the biz in japan, but he couldn't even beat guys at WW in UFC.

there are a lot of theories as to why they underperform.

I think it's stage fright personally.

Also rampage mentioned that the japanese audience energizes the fighters. I think there is some truth to that.

Carlito Brigante - mousasi is one of the best fighters in the world, a top pound for pound guy. Jacare couldnt pass his guard and was consequently ktfo. HE submitted marcus soares black belt dennis kang in like 10 seconds. Not to mention him beating kyotaro and musashi in straight kickboxing. Kyotaro brutally ko'd aerts and manhoef very recently before that too. Mushasi was passed him prime, but still a solid win. He might be the most underated guy right now in mma. He was taking down by one of, if not the best wrestlers in mma and people have written him off. Plus these ufc only fans see a draw with keith jardine, who he beat the piss out of worse then rampage, chuck or forrest did and they further right him off. Gegard is a threat in 3 divisions. He would give anderson his toughest fight. hes also only like 25 years old? crazy how good he is. truly remarkable.

exactly.

A much more impressive win for a middleweight haha. Hunt has no ground game, ko'ing him is impressive

you don't think it has anything to do with the cage? I know that japanese fighters don't train in cages even for their fights in the states.

Your the only poster on this forum i have a problem with, every post you make seems trollish...

ok tro11.

"I know that japanese fighters don't train in cages even for their fights in the states."

Sounds ridiculous to say that in general a fighter training for a fight in a cage isn't training in a cage.  There miiiight be some, but to say it as if it's a standard practice is just crazy.

that's how it is in Japan divac... Aoki and kawajiri both said they didn't train in the cage before they fought Melendez. I don't believe there are any japanese orgs that fights in cages.

The fact is that gaijin fighters used to get paid more if they "lost" over there back then.

That probably has something to do with some of those "upsets".

Really? Most big gyms these days seem to have a cage. Fighting on a fence is very different to against ropes.

Edit: or at least a padded wall.

that is bullshit.

Some works happened prior to Pride 25. After that none.

Remember Japanese revel in both losses and wins. it's teh fight that counts.

the only guy that was definitely involved in works was takada.

Anderson Silva's two losses in PRIDE were both works.

i thought the op was going to bring up the melvin KO.

is that why he was trying to ko ryo chonan with headkicks and punches, rocking him several times? Or was that part of andersons elaborate plan to lose?

Flying scissor heel-hook my ass.
