Died of OLD AGE or.....?

I have wondered why when someone who is 65+ expires it’s often said they died of _____ and I wondered at what point do we say _____ died of OLD AGE?

and then I realized that it is often the case that illness is associated with suffering and not just the case of going to bed and passing on peacefully in one’s sleep and so by saying _____ died of _____ it gives some respectful recognition of that suffering associated with illness/treatment.

Just like with CoronaVirus, some people say that those Old People died because they were OLD yet doesn’t CoronaVirus cause some unpleasant experience, so it’s not like they just peacefully went to sleep and didn’t wake up?

“Dying of old age” implies organ failure without cell mutation (cancer).
