I'd actually be VERY interested in seeing how a rematch with Florian would go.
It is likely Diego could push the pace on Kenny and win a decision or from a TKO, but Florian's standup has looked great and he's a thousand times better than he was in their first fight.
that was many years ago, kenny has improved leaps and bounds since then. wouldn't happen the same way if they fought again.
i think Diego is better now than back then as well.. the guys diego has fought at 170 would beat kenny florian.. Diego is a better grappler than kenny.. he gets the take down a GNP out a victory..

I agree Diego by GnP is most likely, but Kenny's looked so dangerous lately I have a hard time picking against him.
That is a great point, but that was like what, 3 years ago? At 155 Kenny is a beast, I'd have trouble picking Diego in that fight right now. We'll see what he can do vs Joe.

Diego has 7 wins since TUF (2 TKOs, 2 KOs, 2 decisions). He lost a split decision to Fitch (#2 at 170) and a decision to Kos when he had staph.
Florian is a much different fighter now

Those were two different fighters than they are today. Kenny walked into that bout NOT believing he could win, now the guy fights like there is no way he can lose.
Diego will be a handful for almost anyone in the 155 division, no doubt. But if he believes that he will walk through "Daddy" (or anyone in the division) the way he walked through Kenny years ago, then I am afraid he is in for some trouble.

I do not know the guy personally. I also have to agree that on the surface at least, he must have believed he would win. I just felt like Diego had so much more confidence than Kenny did coming into that fight. He definitely seemed to have more confidence once the fight started.
Just the opinion of an outside observer. I very well could be wrong.
One reason I think that is from the clips of Kenny and Diego training together on the show. Kenny was literally laughing while stuffing Diego's takedowns and tagging him on the feet. Diego flipped out and complained that Kenny was "hitting too hard".
