Directv sound????

Is anyone else having a problem with the directv PPV sound. The sound does not match the persons lips. Annoying as hell!!!!!

i remember having that same problem with DTV years ago. but haven't gotten it since i switched to Dish.

Yep, fucked up on mine!!

are you watching in high def? that can be an issue, especially if using an hdmi cable.

Non HD here, and working fine.

It seems to do this at the start of every HD PPV feed. Fucking tired of it!

does DTV have a problem with their recievers and HDMI? because it sure isn't the technology that's the problem

yea, it happened last PPV for me in the beginning as well

The last PPV was the same way for about an hour. It is not too bad during the fight but during the interview you can't even watch. Pisses me off. Not worth it to call and stay on hold for 30 minutes!

2-3 second difference for me. Fucking annoying as hell. Total Bullshit. Dana or anyone from UFC you need to get on there asses and get this fixed. 2 PPV's in a row that are fucked up for me. I am pissed off totally. Fuckers.

syncing has been an issue with hi-def programming on satellite. faulty hdmi cables can produce the same issue as well.

Call in to direct tv and complain.  Im on phone right now

i'd like to see some examples of that. because HDMI is direct and digital. it either connects or it doesnt. there is no 'well it kind of comes in ok'.

If there's a problem. it's with the DISH receivers.

But I'm open to see if that's not true.

I have watched numerous Movies, numerous tv shows, NCAA basketball, NBA Basketball, Pro Wrestling, UFC on Spike, and UFC on Versus and the only fucking time this happens is during UFC ppv's.

It can happen with shitty HDMIs, or when you run your audio through recievers it's not uncommon.

The audio processing on thier boxes is meh at best.

exactly. but it has nothing to do with HDMI.

duh its the receiver in all likelihood, its a well known issue.

re: the hdmi cable, it can be the issue, my installer said point blank they are replacing HDMI cables left and right because the rate of faulty cables is very high. it is causing synch and black letterbox issues. this came straight from the source.

i hate to tell you this but calling a tech for directv the source isn't a great thing. lol. their techs are notoriously under educated. not just them, ALL satellite techs.

I'm not saying the issue isn't true. just that I've never heard of it. in fact, if you ask almost anyone that's into the technology, they'll tell you you're wasting your time paying a lot of money for expensive hdmi. they either work, or they don't.

the issue is mainly because of the stream transmission and receiver processing.

btw, im not saying an installer is a tech guru, but if the guy says they are replacing them because of blackbox and sync issues then chances are there is an issue.

If the HDMI cable is short you're not going to notice much difference, but over 5 meteres it matters much more and you better get a high quality one.
