The documentary Takedown: The DNA of GSP was recently released, and reveals a side of the former welterweight champion not seen before.

When Nick Diaz beat BJ Penn at UFC 137, he called out St-Pierre, who was sitting cageside.

“Where you at Georges? Where you at motherf---er?” shouted Diaz. “I don't think Georges is hurt. I think he's scared. I think he's scared.”

UFC president Dana White addressed it at the post fight press conference.

“I’ve never seen Georges St-Pierre like he was tonight," said White. "Georges St-Pierre flipped out tonight after Nick Diaz was in the ring He said Diaz is ‘the most disrespectful human being I’ve ever met, and I’m going to put the worst beating you’ve ever seen on him in the UFC.'"

White does a grand masterful job of generating pre fight hype, but it was not hyperbole.

In the documentary GSP comes out of surgery not long after Diaz called him out.

"He's a motherf---er, man," said GSP as transcribed by BloodyElbow. "He laugh now, 'Yeah, yeah, he's finished.' Wait for me to come back in a year, man. I'll f--- him up.

"He says I took steroids. I never took, never took in my life, man. People don't believe that. Never took steroids in my life. Can't wait, man. That's why I told you I wanted to fight this guy so bad, so bad. I hate him so much. I hope he will win his fights all the way through, so I'll fight him again and beat him up.

"People don't know I have a lot of demons in my head. But, I keep it inside because I'm nice. Some guys in mixed martial arts are completely insane. We're all a little bit off, but some are like 'pfoo.' Like, me, I can fit in society normal and behave normal, you know? I can hide it. Some guys are like 'pfaa.'"

I miss GSP. When I needed people to throw in on UFC's all I had to say was "GSP is fighting" and everyone wanted to see it.

Hmm.

Thought there'd be butthole pics. Phone Post 3.0

Kepler - Man I wish so much that crazy GSP turned up in the octagon to fight Diaz. GSP did nothing that fight to advance position and for all Diaz's talk of how GSP couldn't hold him down or do whatever because he of his cardio and aggression he sure sat there face down ass up in the air :D lol

I really am a fan of both fighters and I think most reasonable people would agree that GSP needed to fight for the finish a more ( do not care for the tough competition argument 80% of GSP's opponents got finished in there next 2-3 fights) and Diaz adapting more during fights such as the Condit fight.

Perhaps they're being finished because of what he did to them mentally.

"The champ just had his way with me and I realize now I'll likely never beat him" isn't a great motivator.

I agree with this, most fighters have a hangover the fight or a couple of fights after a title shot. You can say about any champions reign.

Back on topic without being a fanboy of any fighter and realistic about the sport I'm not surprised GSPs dark place revolved around drugs and that Nick Diaz could really get to him talking about it.
