I sort of do now. Maybe it's just a little bit sour grapes on my part becuase I couldn't see it live on my tv. Sure there were plently of ways to see it live online, but that just isn't the same.
I've since seen the fights that I cared about. But since I didn't see the event live on TV, it honestly seemed a bit less relavent to me. It lacked the excitement of live fights I normally experience...maybe it's becuase my laptop is 15" and the sound is small and tinny. Maybe it's becuase the card had fewer marquee names than some of thier cards in the past.
I'm not really sure what it is...but the bottom line is, I care a little less about what's going in the WEC now as compared to how I felt after prior events.
I was curious to see how other DirecTV customers felt about it.
Again I agree with pretty much everything you posted CRE. I shouldn't really take it out on the WEC -- it's not their fault and I really don't mean to. Maybe I'm being a bit pompous, too -- but really, if I can't watch it live when I feel like I should, it seems less important to me. I too am pissed at both Comcast and DirecTV, but I'm darn sure not going to switch to Cable over the WEC, bull riding, and a few NHL games.
TTT for Zuffa getting the WEC a better deal on a more stable channel, and regaining their relevance ;)
Poor Direct TV people. You missed an awesome fight card.
The main event was incredible /drool
Sure am glad I have dish network :)
With HD-NET I get more than enough mma. It really didn't bother me much not seeing the wec last night. I feel confident Zuffa will get a deal done that allows DTV customers to see the WEC, if they don't then oh well. It's not as though i'm going to switch carriers for the WEC.
I agree with CRE that vs. is not the right channel for the WEC.
I've always felt like that with the WEC. I'll stick a reminder in my phone for the day of an event, but I have never gone out of my way to see one. If I'm home and I remember, I'll definitely watch. But in the past I've forgotten it was on and watched reruns of the simpsons instead.
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE THE WEC and their generally awesome cards, but it's just not that important to me.
Vegoh I think you missed the part where we saw the fights...just not on DirecTV.
Agree with TH. HDnet is by far the best MMA channel available. BY FAR.
And yes clattymine. What you said too. I also love the WEC, but it's less important to me than other organizations. Even moreso now that it's not on my tv.
