Do you judge someone for their past?

Was drinking with some former coworkers and one revealed that she used to be a stripper. I've known this girl for a few years. She was an office admin and cute enough. But after she dropped that it was pretty hard to look at her in the same way.

Anyone else have this problem? Someone makes an admission about their past and it just changes your opinion of them? I don't think of myself as being judgemental and I think I'd give someone a chance, but evidently I'm less open minded than I thought. Phone Post 3.0

It's fair and useful to judge, however make sure it's tempered with understanding: people change and often you're better to err on the side of giving them the benefit of the doubt - especially if some time has passed.

I try best not to judge but if I heard a coworker was a stripper I'd be taken aback. Phone Post 3.0

It means it's much easier to get with her. Full speed ahead! Phone Post 3.0

I try not to judge a person on things they've done in the past that they obviously left behind and regret. It's hard to put certain things aside at times. As I've gotten older it's been easier. I just think of all the things I've done through the years that I regret. I know I wouldn't want someone judging me on things I've done that I wish I hadn't. Phone Post 3.0

I'm an old married guy. So it's not like I'd do anything. We worked together ten years ago. Would have been great info back then. Phone Post 3.0

It wouldn't change my opinion of her as a coworker if I already felt she was a good worker. Doubt it would matter much on even a friendship level if she had been a good friend to me up until that point. Now if I had been interested in dating her, it'd give me pause for sure.

I believing in analyzing someone's past in decision making if they've given you a reason to need to. Phone Post 3.0

No, but it's easy to judge you for lack of pics Phone Post 3.0

I'm with BWS on this one. Who has time to judge anyone? We're all fucked up in our own way. Just get in that ass Larry!

Yeah exactly, we're talking about dancing naked for money and maybe banging a few patrons. That's not a big deal in my book.

It would depend. I have met a couple ex strippers, an 18 yr old gets talked into it is one thing. Ex porn star would be a little different.

I worked with a guy that married a stripper, they moved to Nevada she became a prostitute, legal there. They did many swinger parties.

Then one day they were born again. Few years later she committed suicide.

Damn, wasn't ready for a sad story!

I try to never judge someone until I've first walked a mile in their shoes.

That way, when I judge them, I'll be a mile away, and will have their shoes.
