I don’t know if love is the right word, but there has been a trend of Putin fandom around here for years. The macho alphas on here likely are drawn to his alpha aura too. Just seems weird that it comes at the expense of freedom for the people of Russia.

Maybe I’m wrong but from what I’ve seen I think that is primarily used as a tool to mock US presidents more than an actual expression of admiration for Putin. People show photoshops of shirtless Putin riding a bear, for example, and then say shit like “this is a real leader, unlike Obama.” I’ve never seen anyone, for example, praise Putin’s domestic policies, or claim he’s really helping the country grow economically. It’s always memes of Putin.
As a member of a family that emigrated from Russia because of political, religious reasons. FUCk you russia and a huge fuck you to putin and anyone that has creamed all over him on this site for years.
He’s been a piece of shit for a long time and his stench is only getting stronger.

I agree with a lot of what you say. But in the same manner, a lot of what you have heard or believe about him is very likely completely false.
Do you think the people who praise an authoritarian for being a “strong leader” are really worried about the nuances of Russian domestic politics?
Do you think the average Russian that thinks Putin is a strong leader puts a lot of thought into Putin’s political agenda?
