This question stems from how long it takes for ppv cards to make their way down to Fight Pass. HBO Boxing airs their ppv bouts a week later, why can't the UFC do the same.
Who's ordering and paying for these cards a week later?
That's my main beef with FP and the reason why I'll be dropping the service after my year's up. That and the lack of FP only live cards.
I download the events after the fact. Then k can use the 30x fast forward action.
The fact that it's free is a bonus.
Do you purchase via FP or YouTube to download?
This is actually one area the UFC can improve on. Start airing past ppv's on fs1 or something a few weeks after they air. That will help with exposure big time when a great event happens and people are talking about it. Show that card a couple weeks later on free tv and build up a fanbase for these fighters.
Instead they want to air ultimate knockouts from fights that happened 8 years ago with guys who have long retired. Total missed opportunity that they're not capitalizing on imo.

EnderinAK - The sooner an event can be seen not on ppv the less ppv will be sold. Imagine if they were free one day later on fight pass. A ton of us would just not look online the night of ppv and save 50.
I disagree.
1) Boxing has been doing this for a long time, if it really affected their ppv sales that much it wouldn't be done. I'm pretty sure even the mayweather pacquaio fight was replayed on hbo and showtime about a week or so after the ppv. It drives traffic to the networks and builds future fanbases through the casual viewers who don't want to pay for ppv yet.
2) it's a live sporting event - part of the reason you order is to get the results in real time. Many people want to be part of the experience of watching it live so you can discuss it with others immediately.

UFC 185 was put up on Fightpass a couple of weeks ago so 2 months before it's free in the event replays. I have rarely missed a UFC ppv live and I've ordered 1 after the fact, many years ago. If was to miss one now I would just watch the single fights on youtube.
4.4 million people paid 100 bucks rather than wait a week.
So, anyone from cable providers to ZUFFA who claim doing so impacts sales?
Get fucked.
You are wrong.
It's the live element that drives sales.
Airing it a week later allows your fans to watch it again, perhaps see it first but now you get to sell ads off the content you already paid to produce and it can help hype guys for future events.
I pay for the event solely because I want to watch it live. I could wait 5 hours and watch it on mma core for free but that's to long.
