scourge - He will always have his physical advantages. That reach and leverage are massive assets.
Plus he has access to the best NFL type roids.
If Jon Jones was taking steroids he'd have a hard time maintaining that tiny little frame of his. More likely that he was taking EPO or something else for endurance.
ABCTT_HeHitsMeBecauseHeLovesMe - I doubt he's gonna suck, but I do believe that he's always used peds, and the Jon Jones we saw against OSP, that's the new Jon Jones.
The hulked out Jones is the natural one? He tested positive after that.
He tested positive for clomid after that. Suggesting that he quit steroids before he was ever caught. He probably quit and did that fight, then after the poor performance decided to use Clomid or something to get his natural test going again. I don't know what happened, but his first fight under USADA he showed up looking like shit. Then right before his second fight, he tested positive for Clomid.

It comes down to whether he can get around USADA or not. We saw what he looked like vs OSP (his most recent performance) and it wasn't exactly overwhelming. We saw him bulk up like a hulk during his suspension, and was undoubtedly on the juice. He got popped just prior to the Cormier rematch, a clear indication he felt he needed a boost for him, and not so much for OSP.
But whether he beats Cormier or not is not necessarily the indicator. Daniel Cormier is not getting any younger or thinner. He appears to be just past that peak of rise and decline. I believe he is now on the back side of the hill and slowly making his downward descent. I don't believe he can beat an enhanced Jones. I believe it's 60/40 he can beat a clean Jones.
I think a fight against The Mauler tells us far more. He's not in decline yet, so we should be able to measure Jones vs a similar Gufstasson as the last time.
Funny as fuck that people forget how great a fighter Jones is. He is the real GOAT, not Mighty Mouse, not GSP, not Anderson, him and Fedor are the real top 2, and he's in his prime, rust or no rust you are gonna see the best fighter we have ever seen in MMA in July.
Out of cage behavior suspensions for the most part but he did get caught by usada, looked poor in his most recent performance with usada, was rumored to hide under a cage when testers came, and wasin the cage ALOT before usada.
Cormier and Gus will be great return fights and will answer a lot of questions IMO. He "won" the Gus fight basically for having the better cardio in the later rounds. Even though he was missing takedowns, strikes , and on the receiving end the entire first half and more of the fight . He turned it on late on Cormier but it wasn't as close as the Gus fight.
What if if he didn't have the GSP 5 round superhero cardio? He wouldn't have won those fights, the fighter that fought osp wouldn't have won those fights.
Agreed. I remember early on in his career he had suspect cardio and then went to Jackson's (where Bagautinov was popped for EPO and a bunch of others have been busted for cheating with TRT and steroids. Also the only gym where two guys have been busted for coke) and went from two round hero to supercardio machine no.1.
There's a lot of fights that would've been a hell of a lot tougher for him if he hadn't out-worked them in the later rounds. Gus and Cormier being the obvious examples but also Rampage, Rashad and Tex. If he slows down just a little bit against any of those guys the fights stay competitive much longer than they did.

That's a very interesting take. I'd forgotten about his suspect cardio early on.
Let's be honest. We all know pissing hot for clomid means he was taking gear.
Having said all of that, he won't suck. He's still a very talented and athletic guy even if he is a mental midget.
