does HAMILL believe he is a great striker??

seriously the guy has been standing and boxing in in his last 4-5 fights but the problem is, he isnt a good boxer or even close to it..he is a good wrestler though but insists on using his slow punching routine in every match...why is this??is his camp brainwashing him and making him believe he is ALI??

does anyone think Hamill will ever be a title contender at 205??i dont, i think he will be a gatekeeper at best eventhough i know he is still young in the sport..

 super slowmo striking.

That fight was painful to watch...B level showing at best from both guys.

His striking looks slow, but he he seems to hit hard and have a solid chin.

Max

Does he get the job done?

He doesn't listen to his trainers.

'does he get the job cone'

not against franklin he didnt but against c-level fighters he does..problem is, that type of gameplan is going to get him demolished against guys like rashad, Rampage, liddell, machida etc etc...i applaud a guy for trying to expand his game but hamill just seems to have no speed and he pushes his jab, doesnt snap it..he barely looks like he belongs in a toughmen contest much less the top level of mma..i wanna see a fighter fight to his strength..

cant listen to his trainers

milk thistle -
just stop and go jack off to your Bo Jackson posters

lol

Well we know he hasn't heard that anywhere

He has been standing and boxing since he started fight. Works alright for him

truewrestler - Works alright for him

Well, that is what every professional athlete aspires to: alright-ness.

Matt has some ugly striking, but you act like
he doesn't use his wrestling. His first
two fights he just took the guys
down at will. In his fight with
Reese Andy when Andy went for a low kick Hamill
grabbed his leg and went for a takedown. He's
usually good about keeping people honest with
their kicks(Not so much in the Franklin fight).

I think one of his biggest problems is not getting
tighter in the clinch with his opponents. Dirty
boxing works all right until you have someone who
can knee you in the face pretty well. Like Rich
Franklin.

Hamill is a better striker than Brandon Vera.

i always thought he should get good at bjj since he can take anyone down with a td set up right

Just look at the Boetsch (sp?) fight. People thought Hamill would get murdered standing, but look how that ended up.

Hamill is an extremely tough but I haven't seen him making the kind of progress that would indicate that he could ever be a champion. I think he could even fight his way into the bottom of the top 10, but I doubt he'll ever be well-rounded enough to make it higher than that.

Matt's BJJ coach, Bruno Tostes in action....

would you rather he take a lay n pray approach? a wrestler has two options - work striking or work submissions. in the beginning they won't look that good either way

Well, he has improved a lot from his days on TUF. Quicker than I thought he would.
