Does the hayabusa rashguard prevent ringworm?

My son is going on his 5th case of ringworm.

I was looking at rashguards and the hayabusa rashguard claims it actually prevents ringworm.

any proof to that before i fork out the cash for another rashguard?

You could make the case that any Rashguard prevents ringworm. Maybe they added an anti-fungal to it?

What sport/art/activity is your son participating in that he's gotten five cases of ringworm? Sounds more like a dirty training area and dirty partners more than his equipment.

They don't clean the mats, get him
Out of there. Phone Post

where is he getting the ringworm??? i was getting ringworm on my elbows and it kept coming back i had no idea why, i showered after class everytime and kept my equipment clean... and i know for a fact the mats are cleaned twice daily...then i realized when i got in the car after training i would put my elbow ont he arm rest sweaty... after a while the funky must have built up and i was getting it fromt he armrests in my car...

anyway it can come from many things you might not think about where contact is made.

Guys I train at the same facilities and have for many more years and I am yet to get it.

He has gotten it 3 times from tournaments.Frustrating that bjj does not do skin checks.

However the question is about the rashguard so if anyone knows about that I would appreciate any answers.

cheers

Would love to see some proof that Hyabusa's rashguard can do this. Show me a study.

I don't think Hayabusa is any better at preventing ring worm than say NoGi rashguards. I've bought two from NoGi and they're duriable as heck. (and no ring worm) Phone Post

Rash guards were not created to prevent mat born illnesses. They are from surfing. They prevent the chaffing that happens from the board, wax, and sand rubbing ur chest. They existed long before bjj. And like the boardshort from surfing they were stolen and used for bjj. Phone Post

So does a long sleeve shirt Phone Post

a  rashguard isn't going to stop ringworm.

Logically think about it. It only covers certain areas. But even those areas are not immune to ringworm. It just depends on the sweat carrying the fungus. Does it reach your skin. Do you believe others sweat doesn't go through a rashguard? Cause it does.

Treated? Anything that would kill a fungus would be removed first wash. I guess you could not wash it but without going into all the reasons that should be obvious that's just nasty.

Can a rashguard or another layer help? Probably but only in the same way that a lot of trees would make getting hit by random arrows harder. but you will catch an arrow sooner or later.

Some people are just more succeptable than others to getting skin problems.

A rashguard could help some, but maintaining proper hygiene is most important.  Shower right after training and if you cannot do that, use a non-alcohol based antimicrobial skin sanitizer.  For tournaments, our skin sanitizer is your best choice.

Can't remember the brand, but some rashies purport to be stave off bacteria due to being treated in some way.

I think that's to prevent funk bacteria from growing on it so it's not stinky

It cured my epilepsy and taught me how to love again.

If your son uses antibacterial soap this may also be the culprit. It kills all the good bacteria on his skin, leaving him defenseless to fungi. Try defense soap and their wipes. They use tea tree oil. Or if it's too expensive use selsun blue medicated right as soap after training. It is an anti fungal. As well you need to wash his bag weekly and not let him put dirty equipment or clothes in it. All his equipment goes in a trashbag and then into his bag Phone Post

It sounds like its living in his clothes or lines. If you are on the same mats as him and live in the same house and haven't gotten it.

I had recurring worm for a while and I was trying everything including buying rash guards and a new gi.

What did it in the long run? I started using a fresh towel after every shower.
