We all know how dynamic fighters like Machida and Anderson became after training under Seagal...even to the point of crediting their Sensei for victories. When I heard DC was training this classic eye poke defense under Steven...
....I thought for sure he would be able to nullify Jones' best attack, yet he still got poked. In your eyes does this diminish Seagal as GOAT MMA Sensei or is the blame on DC for not properly following his master's gameplan?
DC didn't take him seriously. It showed.
It changed the momentum of the fight. However, I would not blame Master Seagal for the eye poke defense of Cormier.
I don't think anyone can defend the Jones eye poke at this point.
Looney Ronulan Paultard - It changed the momentum of the fight. However, I would not blame Master Seagal for the eye poke defense of Cormier.I made this JBJ sparring simulator for Gus and Rumble to use. Maybe if they take the Sensei seriously, unlike DC, and dedicate to traning his technique on this simulator they will have a shot.

Cain blanked Sensei Seagal between rounds 2 and 3. Unable to stand for this effrontery he used his secret energy transfer technique to give Jones the edge going into the championship rounds. It is no surprise DC won round 2, but lost 3-5.

Someone else posted that Seagal switched sides and started helping Jones. Any sources for this hearsay???
