His first year fighting MMA in the pros was just 2015. Didn't grow up doing martial arts. Has been in the UFC just a little over two years.
Is fighting someone who hasn’t been beaten in 26 pro fights and debuted in the UFC in 2008, over 12 years ago, someone who is technical in all ranges, creative, mean and brutal.
Who here thinks Reyes has a good chance?
I think hes a live dog. He's looked good so far and he's very athletic.

I think Reyes is confident and going in there to throw bombs. Shall see if any of that works out for him
Jones is not was he used to be. Reyes has a very good chance of knocking him out

Jones is going to patiently pick him apart and then take him down.
Reyes needs to knock him out early. He has no other way of winning. Bones has plenty ways and he gets better as the fight progresses.
Reyes is fucked imo. He will not get the job done.

I think ppl are too high on Reyes, that includes me. I just went back and watched arguably his most impressive win over Cannonier, and I'm not impressed. Cannonier was back up on his feet, and the ref inexplicably stops the fight instantly. I mean I saw him get rocked with 2 uppercuts, but he was still doing ok with surviving the adversity. Reyes was having lots of trouble early finding his range. I think Jones is too experienced and will end it early with elbows, sprinkling in spinning shit, knee kicks, and an eyepoke for good measure. I don't even like Jones like that, but I don't see anything but a lucky shot being a way to victory for Reyes.

Is Reyes comes in too hot Jones is going to poke his eye out. Then it's will be more of the same like every other Jones fight. He will pick him apart.

I basically don't see Reyes doing better than Gustafson.
Does anyone here think Reyes can defeat Gustafson? They didn't fight for God's sake. Reyes is not ready and he's talking shit on Jones. I don't even like Jones and want him to lose. But Reyes has this false confidence but it should translate to a better than average fight for the fans. Still, the man is fucked. Jones is Anderson Silva prime caliber right now and Reyes is Forrest Griffin.
May God strike Jones for all those blatant eye pokes. That shit angers me. There will always be an asterisk to his name. He's a dirty dirty fighter. Back to Reyes. Either KO Jones by being the aggressor and controlling the center or get fucked by Jones. Simple as that.

More like leading a lamb to blindness from finger pokes.
I think his best chance is to take the fight to jones. Only time I ever remember seeing jones uncomfortable was the first Gus fight when he realized his usual size advantage didn't work. He adjusted and timed that spinning elbow perfectly to change the momentum. The OSP fight wasn't as bad as people say and it was supposed to be DC until he got injured and Jones was in no position at that time to tell the ufc no.
Reyes is a live dog. It is a big step up in competition but no more so than when Weidman fought Anderson Silva. How many were giving him a chance in that fight? However as I have said in previous posts, Jones has those borderline tactics which can throw opponents off their game cause they start thinking about the fouls and forget what is in front of them.
Going with Reyes on this...

Also, went back and watched the OSP fight, and Reyes' gas pedal significantly slowed after the first round. I think I learned more about Reyes in the OSP fight than Cannonier. He did a great job winning the fight, but I saw his flaws and vulnerabilities. Jones can bring it for the full 5 rounds, Dominick slows down at all and it's going to cost him..

Exactly my point Jones can go all five rounds and a big part of his strategy is tiring out his opponent hence the oblique kicks and knee kicks.
