“I think once I get older, I’m going to get tired of cutting weight. I could just go there and fight (at welterweight). I think that’s my goal. I’m going defend my belt a couple of times and maybe go to the welterweight division and do some superfights like Ben Henderson.”

Didn't Jeremy Stephens KO this guy?

Rimbaud - Didn't Jeremy Stephens KO this guy?

yeah. RDA go Knocked Out by stephens in his UFC Debut. Tyson Griffin went to war with him and won and Guida finished him. crazy how his career turned out better

Didn't GSP used to walk around at about 190lb? Thats a big % of his body weight that he is shedding to make lw.
It would be interesting to see how he performs when he only has to get to 170 instead of 155.
Might be a bit outsized by some of them.
I'd watch him v Brown and a number of other guys though. Phone Post 3.0

I really like RDA but come on. You can't win the title, be injured and before you have even defended the belt be talking about Superfights? Phone Post 3.0

fraz1001 - He knows those Random drug tests are coming once you have a belt.

Funny how he's out for so long straight after winning the belt.

Dude was juiced to the gills for the Pettis fight. Phone Post 3.0

Passed the same tests the Texas commission deemed appropriate for local boy Johny and anyone else on the card. At least RDA doesn't have a history of turning down free VADA testing......

It must be the new thing to win a title then want to move weight division.

Retain it first. Then again and again. Especially at lightweight, where there are at least 10 people who could be feasible champions. Phone Post 3.0

I'm not saying RDA took anything but that Texas commission is a joke. IIRC they informed the fighters months in advance that there would be no random tests.

I listened to RDA's trainer on JRE and he was very adament he didn't take anything but who knows, maybe these guys are just really good liars.

I am very suspicious about Hendricks though. He refused VADA testing because what? he said he was afraid they would fake a positive test beause GSP was a client of theirs. Bullshit, they are one of the most respected testing labs in the world. Georges knew what was up with that guy.

Defend the belt at least ONCE before the word "superfight" crosses your mind.

Kinda odd for him to say Phone Post 3.0

why is he even talking WW at this point??? tons of good fights for him at 155

Why is everyone hatin' on RDA? Isn't this what the UG wants in a champion? He's saying he'd like to stay at LW and defend his belt a few times and if successful his goal is to eventually move up to WW and challenge himself.

The dude is just laying out his career goals and is one of the few champs that is willing to eventually stop playing the game and fight at their natural weight class. Sure, it most likely won't go down this way, but I can't hate on him for having that mentality.
