Doyle Bramhall II, from Shootozen

On the "Cool Gilmour vid" thread, Shootozen shared this:

since I'm on baddazz blues vids...don't know if I posted this before, but here's Doyle Bramhall II doing Lightnin' Hopkins' "chariot"...

I should mention that he's playing that thing strung upside down-

I figured it should have its own thread, so long as I'm embedding

I dig him, but every second clip I see of him it seems like his amp is always jacked to the point of drowning out everyone else.

This was definately the case at the Clapton show.

Good guitarist for sure though.

yw, hugo -- but I just posted for Shootozen. (I haven't had a chance to listen to this whole thing, yet, myself).

What I know about Bramhall was the Arc Angels record, where I liked his playing a lot, but didn't get that into the songs; and the Roger Waters DVD, where he sounds great and is visually just way distracting!

I can tell he's a helluva player, but don't know what his best context is (or if he's found it)

That is way closer to the sentiment I was trying to capture than what I wrote in my previous post.

Agree completely about Ali.
