I was gonna replay the first 2 installments and i dont remember playing awakening dlc. Is it worth the 20 bucks? 
It is a pretty legit DLC. Worth $20? I'd say no, I think I picked up the entire DA:O collection with all the DLC for less than $20.
It is definitely fun though. Adds quite a few hours of gameplay. 
it was a great addon to the first dragon age. but it is old now i wouldn't pay 20 bucks for it.
Game and dlc were good but are a bit dated now. I don't think they aged very well imo so I wouldn't pay 20 for both right now. Find a sale.

you don't have to play them at all but you can still fill out the online site saying you did without having to play them
If ypu can get da o ultimate edition then do it. Awakening is dope
Its still worth 20$. DA:O is the best of the series and Awakening is a huge DLC compared to today's standards. Its a full campaign that takes 15-20 hours to complete, with new classes, new companions, etc.
Doesn't affect the outcome but certainly adds a little bit.
It's always cool to see or hear about things you've done in earlier games or characters you met.
I would say awakenings alone is still better than DA2

Awakening was great. I think it sort pushes past just being a DLC into being an actual expansion.
Dragon Age Origins was my favorite game on last gen.
