Drizzt Do'Urden

I have read the first 7 books near 5 times each in my life. About book 8 or 9 it didn't keep my attention. Has he turned into a comic book character along with his friends, or are the remaining books worth my time?

And I want movies made of the first 7 books!!!!! Phone Post 3.0

Just last week I finished reading the trilogy about his early life in the Underdark. Must have been twenty years since I last touched them, they were sitting in a box of old childhood things.

Definitely good material for a movie adaptation, although they'd have to take some liberties and add a few light sources, otherwise it'd be two hours of staring at a black screen.

I can't remember if I ever read further than that, maybe one or two more, but pretty sure I lost interest at the same point that you did.

'DrizzIT' IMO.

The new story arc is great and you can start it there, if you read the first couple of trilogies.

The Underdark is being invaded by the Demon Lords. Drizzt et al are in the Underdark now fighting demons (Archmage, first book of the new trilogy).

I went on an excursion recently, down an old slate mine. Several hundred feet under a mountain(organised trip, highly recommended). I read the Underdark Trilogy as preparation. Didn't help in the slightest, but it was great to read them again. Always wondered how Belwar went to the toilet. Phone Post 3.0

Voted up, my favorite fictional character ever.

I still remember how he beat his dad with the double downward X parry and then kicked him in his chest. Phone Post 3.0

Listen to him, I believe his SN is fitting

I was always an Artemis guy myself. Phone Post 3.0

I read the Icewind Dale Trilogy before the Underdark Trilogy was written.

My my absolute favorite book series.

Probably read teh Icewind Dale and Underdark books like 6 or 7 times each.

Also the first few solo hardcover books after that, Starless Night, Passage to Dawn, etc.

Started losing me a bit when Wulfgar came back and went all psycho, but have read them all.

Not necessarily the best written books, when compared to something like GoT, but Salvatore can make a sword fight come alive like no one's business.

I still think the Icewind Dale trilogy is the better of the two trilogies, some epic battles in those books.

Crenshinibon, Errtu, The battles in Mithril Hall with Entreri and the Shadow Dragon, the Evermoors, Biggrin's lair, Icing Death battle, etc.

If you read them in the order they were written, the Underdark trilogy was a prequel

Honestly I find Jarlaxle, Gromph and Entreri way more fun than Drizzt but still good reads.
