Duck hunting

Duck hunting is starting back up in Minnesota this weekend. Bought my license and stamps and some camo burlap to cover my little duck boat. Anyone else going out soon or have already gone out this season?

Ours doesn't start until (other than early teal) until November, I can't wait though. I'll be guiding some hunts once the season comes in, being in south Georgia I rely on wood ducks and divers unless I travel which I do a few times a season. Phone Post 3.0

I bought a shotgun to shoot clays.  Just can't get excited about getting up early to go sit in a boat in the cold.  My old man used to take my brothers and me fishing when we were kids, every spring salmon fishing in Maine.  My brothers loved it and take their kids now.  I couldn't care less.

Love busting clays, though.

the dog is already to go as well. It will be his first year goingalong with duck hunting. He's an excelent pheasant dog but also loves the water so I figured I'd give him a try

They're awesome dogs. Our season might as well be a teal season since that's all that's around early on. I love getting wood ducks too tho. Got a few goldeneyes last year, those were my first ever divers. Do you hunt the wood ducks in a flooded woods?

Mostly yes, we have a few beaver ponds they come in as well. Being on the coast we get some really good blue bill numbers and some old squaw too. We also make a trip to my dad's in Panama City Beach, a lit of people don't realize they have the second biggest Redhead migration in the country only behind Texas. Phone Post 3.0
