Duke Roufus is one of the best coaches in MMA, and in the main event of UFC on ESPN+ 26 in Auckland, New Zealand, Roufusport protege Paul Felder lost a Split Decision, and an $84,000 win bonus. Roufus spoke with Luke Thomas, and expressed frustration with the state of judging in MMA.
Did he complain when other fighters have gotten robbed ? This is nothing new and has been going on forever. The Felder fight wasn’t even close to the worse judging we’ve seen.

Hard to complain about the decision when your fighter comes out looking like he was in a catastrophic auto accident. I also thought Felder won, but it was no robbery. To me, if the fight is close going into the final round, and one fighter manages to get a takedown, but does no damage or even attempts a submission, he shouldn't be awarded the decision based on that one final takedown.
Hook did nothing with his takedowns. Felder dictated the fight.
On a SideNote: This decision was far from a robbery.
Yes he did nothin with his TD. Agree. But beyond that it was close. And if u and I hit each other for 3 min & it’s not one sided and then u thrown me down and ate on me for 2 min doing little. And I’m forced to pick a winner… I’d pick u.
The TD wouldn’t overcome the other guy doing more but it’s debatable who did more.
I can totally see either guy winning 3-2. I respect anyone saying they had felder.
But to say it’s some robbery is just politic. You are either biased or just lying.
Fight was very competitive.
It’s a disservice to anyone who is really actually robbed to suggest that this is a robbery
UFC's official stats say Hooker only landed one takedown. That was in the 5th round. Their official stats for striking indicate that the strikes landed were close in the 5th round, with a slight edge in favor of Hooker.
Some people say Hooker won because the judges were swayed by the takedown. Oh, wait: 2 of the 3 judges gave the 5th round to Felder.
So much for the "takedown steals the round" argument.
