Duquesnoy will look at offer from UFC after BAMMA

BAMMA bantamweight champion Tom Duquesnoy says he will decide who his next employers will be after a successful title defence against Alan Philpott at BAMMA 27. The two division BAMMA champion is on the last fight of his current four-fight deal.

The Frenchman defends his BAMMA World bantamweight title against Northern Ireland’s Philpott in the 3Arena next Friday night in Dublin, and says he will not make a decision on his future until after the fight. The title fight will headline the BAMMA 27 portion of the card.

The Parisien has always said he would not join the UFC until he felt ready to become their World champion.

“That’s the long term vision I always have, the best idea, the best plan. I feel like I should do that plan. So, I will. I feel more ready now, and we will see after the BAMMA fight. I will listen to BAMMA’s offer, Bellator’s offer and the Russian people who want to sign me, too.”

“Firekid” has turned down offers from UFC match maker Sean Shelby to join thee World’s leading promotion; but now says he will listen to those offers, and other offers from rival promotions, after the Alan Philpott fight.

“I have a good relationship with Sean Shelby who is the match maker of the lightweights; of my category featherweight and bantamweight, too. It’s been almost three years that we are speaking, right now. It’s not a secret, everybody knows it.”

“I don’t want to play the rumours, too, but he offered me something. It’s in the interest of everybody that we should wait a little bit more. I took four more fights with BAMMA this year, next week will be the forth, after I will be free.”

“We will see. I can’t clearly see now, I am focused on the fight. Once the fight is done we will negotiate with everybody, but yeah it’s coming.”

The BAMMA 27 card is part of a co-promtion which will see Bellator 169 take place on the same night directly after the BAMMA 27 card.
