I think it's safe to say, whether you hate him or love him, Sonnen draws a lot of attention for his antics. As far a PPV draw, he has the potential to be a PR monster, he just needs more of the spotlight that something like...another title shot (or the belt itself) would bring him.
So to my point. If Sonnen beats Brian Stann, how many of you see him fighting for the title immediately? If Anderson defends his belt against Okami, I definitely see it happening. If Okami wins the belt, I could easily see a #1 contender bout between Sonnen and Silva, despite that almost regardless of how Silva might lose, he deserves an instant rematch simply because of his extensive title run.
Anyone else see DW trying to "Lesnar" Sonnen? Look at this way, Falcao gets cut from the UFC because of an assault charge from like seven years ago. Sonnen gets caught for roids, then gets caught for federal money laundering (or whatever it was), and the UFC can't wait to get him back in the cage.
Why? Because he's marketing gold. More fans tune in to see him get beat up than they do to see him win, but they're still tuning in.

They should do Sonnen v. Silva if they can't make GSP v Silva happen.
Considering he beat the shit out of the current champ for 4.5 rounds I wouldn't say a fast track as much as a rematch soon. 
I think he deserves an immediate rematch for the beating he put on Silva, however for some reason I think the winner of the TUF coaches will be for the #1 contender spot.

yea, Sonnen could be the next guy in line if he beats Stann. But if Belfort beats Sexyama, I'd make Chael fight Vitor in a #1 contender match

Real fight fans don't, this is true. Many people on this forum see through his BS, but there's still a ton of people listening.
I've only been to three live MMA events in my life, including one UFC, and they were all practically ruined by some jackasses who were yelling the dumbest, most unfunny shit I've ever heard the entire night (KICK HIM IN THE DICK!!!), and happened to be sitting right by me.
THOSE are the people who love Chael Sonnen, and by god, there's ALOT of them. They're EVERYWHERE.
I love this sport more than any other, but it attracts the most childish and stupid adult fans of any sport in the world, and then brings the worst out of them. These fans relate to Chael Sonnen, and I firmly believe he's aware of this, and he's exploiting their stupidity.
Fortunately, for him to launch to superstardom, he will need trash talk and results in actual fights. So I hope Brian Stann knocks his block off.
