I want to see this fight so we can move past this frankie BS.
I hate watching Edgar but he beats Conor for sure.
Floyd'sPeehole -I never said Frankie said it but it came out of his camp.Shy Guy - Jesus, Frankie is teaching desperately now to get this fight. If you actually read the post you would find out that Frankie didn't say any of this

If that's the case, I guess he doesn't want a title shot . Conor isnt worth of defending his first title against Rankie fdger..
jTheHybridwolff - If that's the case, I guess he doesn't want a title shot . Conor isnt worth of defending his first title against Rankie fdger..** featherweight title

Thats why frankie has been campaigning last couple months
12SixElbow -The problem isnt that frankie doesnt sell fights....the problem is that zuffa wont back guys like frankie and give him the push he needs.Sonnen y Diaz Bros - Frankie Edgar PPV Buy History

He doesn't sell as much, though it looks like he sells more than Mighty Mouse, so he's got that going for him.
The two biggest were Baby Jay, who does sell.
Look at Mayweather........most boring point fighter in all of boxing, but people bought his fights.
Zuffa doesnt put money into any of its top fighters unless they start with the wwe act.

Henry was at UFC 196 cornering Corey Anderson, who got a decision win over Tom Lawlor, but he kept a close eye on McGregor's loss to lightweight Nate Diaz, at welterweight.

Henry called attention to the fact that Frankie Edgar too switched divisions, and was in fact the lightweight champion.
“I think Frankie was going to fight Aldo and Conor was going to fight for the 170-pound belt,” said Henry, as transcribed by CombatPress. “I don’t know what’s going to happen with Conor now, whether it’s Aldo or Frankie, but I definitely think Frankie deserves it more.”
“People this weekend were saying how amazing Conor is by going up. Well, Frankie is 15 pounds less than Conor and was the 155-pound champion. People need to get that in their head when talking about this awesomeness of Conor McGregor. If McGregor is this awesome fighter for going up and getting crushed, Frankie must be the best fighter to ever walk on the planet.”
“[McGregor] didn’t go up two weight classes,” Henry pointed out. “He fought a 155-pound fighter, and Frankie has dominated that weight class. Conor couldn’t even get past the first 155-pound fighter he faced. At the end of the fight, he was saying something like, ‘I don’t know if Frankie is worthy of fighting me.’ I think it’s the other way around. I don’t think Conor is worthy of fighting Frankie.”
“I think from that fight we know why Conor and the UFC don’t want him to fight Frankie. This guy gasses out and Frankie would just maul this kid. Frankie isn’t afraid to throw strikes and has good movement. There’s a lot of things Conor does to fighters that he wouldn’t be able to do to Frankie.”
“In today’s MMA, Frankie is a 135er. He’s a little bit smaller than our world champion, [WSoF bantamweight champ] Marlon Moraes. He was fighting big guys at lightweight. Guys like [Gray] Maynard, who was walking around at 185 pounds. Benson Henderson is a pretty big guy. I didn’t want Frankie standing in front of these big guys, so I came up with a lot of movement for him, setting up shots and things of that nature.”

I saw the title of the article and went in thinking "horse shit", but read it abd came out thinking he made some damn good points.

Of course the champ is worthy to fight anyone in his division, but I had forgotten the amazing accomplishments of Edgar.

The difference is, Frankie kept moving down and whining about his size
Conor went up and said fuck it I'll give it a go
No, the difference is that Frankie said "fuck it I'll give it a go" at the beginning of his career, which is why he cut from 162 to 155, where he beat the reigning #1 and supposed lightweight GOAT and became champion, ultimately going 15-3 at 155 (having avenged one loss and with the other two both being arguable decisions). Even at 145 he is smaller than his opponents.
Conor cuts from 165+ to 145, talks about how small everyone at that weight is compared to himself, then went up and got crushed in the second round by a lightweight who lost 3 of his last 6 at 155, bringing Conor's record against lightweights to a fantastic 2-2 with the wins being over complete nobodies.
pushZIGGLER -Sonnen y Diaz Bros - Frankie Edgar PPV Buy HistoryWho has Frankie beat? I don't see a single guy who actively fights still in the promotion. He was in a fortunate place, at a fortunate time. When you're fighting the same two or three guys, 2-3 times what does that say about the divisions depth? He lost twice to Benson, who has slipped down not only in the rankings but right outta the UFC. And Frankie didn't beat Aldo at FW, so.........

Penn campaigned to fight Conor at 196 and may fight at 200. There's also a guy named Chad Mendes, maybe you heard of him, he's Conor's second-biggest all-time win.
If you're strictly talking about lightweights, who has Conor beat? Aaron Johnson? Who is that?
Frankie would walk right through Nate, it would look like Bendo vs Nate. Just ragdoll him.

In before people who didn't read the actual articl..... O shit
Edgar should get the fight but I could these statements backfiring...
Sultry Crockett -He ain't Koing Frankie, and how does knocking out mendes make you a point fighter? Maybe he doesn't hit as hard as other people but the guy has fought 2 weight classes above the 135 lb class he should be at for years
I can't stand the way Edgar fights because he's a point fighter but at some point because Conor rules that division he's going to have to face Edgar.
It's inevitable and as much as I don't want to see that fight it'll eventually happen. The longer the UFC puts it off the better though, that shit will be a snoozer. Edgar will engage in some exchanges, but for the most part he'll avoid Conor's power and try to keep it in the clinch and on the ground to win and points and then call himself a champion, which is a joke to me.
Anyway, that's the reality. In order for Conor to beat him he'll need to keep it on the feet and KO that fucker.

no longer a fan of Frankie.Conner does not need the fight Frankie does.If Conner doesnt deserve the fight QUIT BEGGING for it
Bofbro - I hate watching Edgar but he beats Conor for sure.
lets bet even odds when they fight
I say let Frankie fight Aldo, if he can knock him out in 13 seconds or less than he deserves it, until then you have to beat the man to be the man

You're WAY too emotional about this sport. You need to chill out and grow up a bit.
Sonnen y Diaz Bros - Frankie Edgar PPV Buy HistoryThe San Antonio Spurs have sometimes been criticized for not being an exciting team. Does that mean they wont be allowed to play for the nba championship regardless of who they beat in the playoffs? No because at the end of the day, the nba playoffs are to decide which is the best team in the nba. Which team sells more tickets have 0 impact on that.

If the UFC wants to put themselves on the same category as the NBA/NFL/NHL etc, they need to drop the WWE bullshit.
Wrestlemania of MMA of the Super Bowl of MMA. Which one do they want to be?
If they want to be considered a legit sport, they need to have the champ face the #1 contender.
Being the UFC champ is supposed to mean you're the #1 fighter in your weight class. How can Conor be considered the #1 FW when he's yet to face his toughest match up?
