I don’t know or care. This thread is about how soft guys pretending to be tough guys wanting to compete, but don’t, are ruining the UFC. I couldn’t care less about Colby. If anyone (including Colby obviously for those of you stuck on him) is healthy, and not interested in competing in the next 6 months, cut them, and do business with guys who do.
The UFC would be much more enjoyable if their athletes wanted to compete. It may prove to be that it would be much more profitable, too. I don’t know if we’ll ever know. Paying guys so much that they get comfortable not competing doesn’t seem to be in the UFC’s best interest.
He doesn’t deserve one. He’s been ducking fights for an entire year. He hasn’t had a good win in 5 years.

The UFC is not a meritocracy. Leon vs Colby sells more PPVs than Leon vs Belal. There’s nothing more to it than that.

In case of injuries sure, give the next ranked fighter a shot, but otherwise rankings should have a real meaning and the no1 guy should always be the first pick to fight the current champ!

Real fans want to see fighters like Jon Fitch and Demetrius Johnson and Jessica Eye. Ratings be damned. No one wants to see exciting, fan-friendly fighters with big personalities fight for titles. We want Belal Muhammad and Geoff Neal.
