The article is bullshit. Whenever there’s animal experimentation, those animals are watched over by regulators. They would be all over neuralink if they were abusing animals. The universities have those guys crawling everywhere and that’s just when the researchers use mice.

Fauci is different. He’s not regulated. But every other dude that has even one animal is. Those regs are a real pita. They come and inspect the animals, looks at your records , makes you fill out the right forms. Government oversight at its best.

I’ve had some of the dumbest conversations of my life with people who believe that in 2 years we’ll be able to use Nueralink to communicate telepathically or download consciousness.
What other fucking technology do you know of which works this way?
Why does this seem like a logical technological step?
People have been severely misled about the rate of technological advancements - partially because they believe that tech giant algorithms are incredibly advanced, and are the reason that people are addicted to devices. Advanced AI and (useful) neural implants are a long way off.

A lot of people don’t understand computing at all and they look at the UI and the outer packaging and think we have made these huge leaps in technology when we really haven’t…
And your spot on about AI… You want to know how advanced AI is right now? If you speak 2 languages just use Google translate… That’s ones of the AI products from one of the biggest tech companies in the world and it has one very simple problem it’s trying to solve… And it’s horrible at it… And they’ve been at it for decades.

We are so far away from making that tech completely safe and reliable. Think about how many problems first gen tech has had throughout the last few decades and apply that to a human life. No way. Not in my lifetime. Fuck being a guinea pig.
