You don't need stimulants, you need to get your body out of the "sitting-on-ass" low gear it's in. I'm a huge fan of Scott Sonnon's "Warrior Wellness" for getting my body energized and loosened up for real workout. It's also good for injury prevention and getting rid of DOMS on off-days.
Hit the Gym in the morning before work. I get to the gym at 6am and I'm at work at 8am. Been doing it for about 22 years that way. First couple weeks were tough but then I got used to it. Energy levels are good through the day and at night I have time for practice and family.
