Enuf already get Tony C on here &

Enough with this crap already. I come on this forum and
admittedly, I don't post on here much anymore. I've been a
member of this forum for years and when I want mma info,
opinions and curious what the mma community is talking about I
come on.....

BUT regarding the Tony Cecchine stuff I mean come on, we are
talking about people smearing a man's name in a very damning
way. And no Joe, Eddie or anyone else, I am not a Tony C. nut
rider. I've posted already that I went to one of the guys seminars
and already said that I wasn't sold on everything, but there was
some good stuff that I did see and have demonstrated on me that
I liked - like the short arm-scissor (great move, no matter where
it comes from).

I train BJJ by the way and with top level instruction. There are a
few things I feel, as well as many forum members feel, that need
to be resolved:

1) Rogan - you said that you have proof that Tony C is a fraud.

One of his "former" students sent you or Eddie an e-mail. YOU
and EDDIE decided to announce to the forum - which is MOST of
the grappling, MMA world that Tony C is a fraud

Joe I don't understand for the life of me why before posting the
RICCIOUSA thread that you didn't even ATTEMPT to contact Tony
himself and ask him BEFORE posting the thread. That would have
been a better start if you ask me.

2) Kirik - check to see if the IP addresses match RICCIOUSA and
whoever else appears to be connected to any catch threads and
posts that are talking shit about Joe and Eddie.

3) Someone, ANYONE like Bruce L. or one of Tony's guys that
post here explain how Tony is being thrashed here and have the
guy post under his own name -TONY CECCHINE and have Tony
himself address this issue. If not, then Tony is going to be
considered a fraud by 95% of the MMA, grappling community. If
Tony makes a good part of his living off of selling tapes and
books then his reputation MUST be kept intact or there goes the
man's living....especially with all of the health issues that face
him, I think he needs to keep earning some dough.

4) Joe & Eddie - IF Tony does come on here and denies these
allegations then I think that the two of you have an obligation to
post an apology.

5) However, IF Tony does NOT post then IMHO and the opinion of
most here, Tony is probably guilty as charged. I can tell you this,
if someone was accusing me of this shit and was bashing my
name that could cost me my reputation AND my living I would be
on here ASAP - shit, I'm on here now and it's not even me that's
being talked about.

IF Tony does plan on coming on the man seems to have A LOT to
answer for. I have the LAOH set and many people here have spent
good, hard earned money on the set as well as others. Questions
that need to be answered?

  • Tony where did you learn Catch from? Stanley Radwan? For
    how long?

  • What name did you enter the golden gloves under?

I guess that's a start.....

The point of the thread here is not to bash Tony, Eddie or Joe, it is
simply to cut through all the bullshit and end this once and for all.

We're talking about someone's reputation here. This is long
enough -

Can you imagine if Tony C (or anybody for that matter) came on this forum and said that Joe Rogan was a scum bag and that they had all kinds of secret information proving it but they just didn't feel like posting it at the moment? I wonder what Rogan's (and the forum's) reaction would be to that. I don't know if Tony has posted under different screen names or not and I don't know if his background is legit or not, but just reading the posts from Rogan has told me a lot more about Rogan than Tony. I wonder if Rogan realizes how he comes across in all of this? Name calling and personal attacks on forum members seems so bush league. I would suggest taking the high road instead of the name calling and angry threats. Rogan has a pretty prominent postition in the MMA world as an announcer for the UFC PPV's. Can you imagine Jeff Blatnik raving like this? My advice to Rogan is to take a more professional approach to this whole thing. If you want to make a point make it, but without the name calling. Also, if you are going to make accusations specifically about someone posting under a false name bring in real proof (people have been exposed on this forum before using IP addresses). Don't tell us "I know because "so and so" told me and then call forum members idiots who don't believe you. You may be right, but just from a logical, rational stand point you have not "proved" Tony posted under any name. Act in a way that is worthy of your rare postition in the MMA world.

Man it's just weird that so many Tony supporters have 1 post.

Robin.

i'm not following your logic. U got his tapes and u want to know if he faught in the golden gloves? If he didn't enter the GG does that mean his tapes suck?

Robin, hi. I've been on the forum for years. My first and only other screen name was "SuperSpider" which I had for years. But even then (and that was before this was even mma.tv) I only posted regularly for a short time. I've had this screen name since May 15, 2004. I usually don't even log in, I just look at some of the threads. My motivation for my previous post was more my feelings about Rogan's name calling of forum members than defending Tony. Like I said I can't imagine Jeff Blatnik conducting himself like this. Imagine Kirik acting this way when he disagreed with forum members. I don't think my argument is off base.

Nico = 100% correct

Nice thread.

It's tough to counteract the mob mentality.

I wish that both sides could find a good forum (no pun intended) to sort things out.

Perhaps on one of the MMA raiod programs?

IMO Rogan and Bravo made fools of themselves.

I don't claim to know the guy (Tony), but I have been on his forum and defended Catch here from time to time.

I know that a lot of this BS started a looong time ago on THIS forum between him and another fellow who claimed that HE was an authentic "Catch Wrestler" and not Tony (the guy's name escapes me right now, but he sells a book called "Combat Conditioning").

Long story short, this situation went on to the point where both parties left this forum and Tony, showing more professionalism than the latter, chose the high ground and not to participate in all the bashing anymore (at least to the best of my knowledge - maybe someone else could elaborate more).

I DO know that Tony has his own forum now that has strict policies on trolling or bashing which is just fine by me. I've been on his forum and find that (so far) he's a pretty decent guy that doesn't have this huge ego and accepts legitimate questions about personal history without getting bent out of shape.

I also have his tapes and find that he is a good teacher when presenting different submission techniques. He definately has something to offer as far as submissions go.

All this being said, it's a safe bet that Tony will more than likely NOT post any rebuttle which to me shows more common sense and professionalism than Joe "Blowgan".

I don't think that Tony has any obligation to come on here and respond to these allegations.

I think that the people who make allegations are obligated to provide proof.

So far, we have seen no proof, only heresay and conjecture. Joe Rogan supposedly has "top secret and damning information" which verifies all of his claims without a doubt (especially on Tony's injuries and illness) but he refuses to release it. At the same time, he complains because Tony doesn't release the name he boxed under as a kid, he calls Tony a fraud for not providing proof that he traind with Radwan, etc.

This seems to be a clear case of the pot calling the kettle black.

UH, someone has ass raped the correct

Got to agree here.

I'm disapointed in Eddie & Joe, even if any of their allegations are true (and they haven't proven anything yet). The manner that this has been presented is really childish -- they took the lowest road possible when it would have been easy to walk on and take the high road.

I liked the one guy who posted: "So this is what 30 year old guys without families do with their spare time."
