Thank you, Rick.  Thank you for being a friend.  Travel down that road and back again.  Your heart is true you're a pal and a confidant.

pretty crappy call IMO. Prater got blitzed, and maybe got hit by 1 solid shot to the back of the head. If Vitor can keep his win over Akiyama, then Silva should be able to keep his. Total BS call by Yamasaki

bumped to kill time until the presser

the worst dq ever Phone Post

Very bad call IMO.

Some people won't be happy until fighters are terrified of throwing any punches at all on the ground because chances are good one might land on the back of the head of a ducking, turning, rolling, falling opponent.

No wonder so many guys lay and pray; you aren't allowed to do anything on the ground these days.

it would be easier to justify the ruling if there was a bit more consistency overall.  would rather it was a NC.

Yamasaki letting us know who he had money on for this fight. ;-)

is there a precedent for this?  mazzagatti just stood brock and mir up again and let 'em rip.

realistically it looks to me like there were a bunch of blows to the back of the head there so people saying the call is ridiculous are kidding themselves the real problem is that no one is calling this right now, then to just call it a DQ and give a guy a loss doesn't seem right. I mean why didnt he stop it when it started give the guy time to recover if possible then restart/No contest if he couldnt, i dunno doesnt seem fair to either guy

 Thanks for posting the gif.

It looks fairly clear to me from those gifs that Prater was hit in the back of the head.  That is against the rules, so there certainly should have been some action taken.  I guess I would have preferred the ref step in a little sooner, split them up, take a point for the blow(s) and let em go back at it.  It sucks for Silva to get a loss in that situation, but it also sucks for Prater to get blasted in the back of the head.

Reckoner - Perfect call by Yamasaki. That was blatant cheating.

I think I saw you take this stance in a couple other threads, and I gotta kinda applaud you for it because it's not a very popular one. one thing for sure is that Silva is for real, and regardless of this outcome we'll be seeing allot more of him. I think Mario may have been caught up in how aggressive Silva was, saw the one blatant shot and called it.. that along with the way Prater campaigned for it just after it happened. I feel bad for all of them because today we should all be talking about Silva

I watched the reply several times and after the first shot to the back of the head, there was a big visible knot. Silva then proceeded to hit him in the same spot 2-3 more times.

thats fucking amazing -  how you agree and disagree with the ref in the same post

THAT'S what he Dq'd him for? Wow, I'm a bit speechless. Um, maybe a point deduction at most, but the guy was already stunned. It's not like the shots to the back of the head are what stunned him and put him down in the first place. Phone Post

The problem was that he tried to finish him with shots to the back of the head.
