So as some of you know I'm a muzzleloader enthusiast and while I own a few modern guns my interest has turned more to the classic patch and ball guns. Anyway, I follow this guy's channel and heard about this a few days ago and thought I'd share...
With shit like this proposed it's hard not to argue that complete disarmament is the final goal.

Politicians in the European Union want to ban black powder weapons.
This measure would impact any black powder enthusiast and further erode gun rights across the pond.
Our friend Cap and Ball urges all black powder shooters to oppose the new black powder weapon regulations.
Gun control in Europe is quite a serious problem. Now the gun banners have black powder weapons in their sights.
Black powder rifles are centuries old technology and are in danger of being classified in the same category as assault weapons. This is due to some very ignorant politicians who feel terrorists will somehow use this ancient and slow to reload weapons. It just does not get any dumber than that.
Cap and Ball urges all black powder shooters and collectors to say no to more regulations in the European Union.
Think of the children!
john joe - "complete disarmament is the goal"Not sure if just completely missing the point, or completely fucking stupid...
lolololol, as if in the event of an EU evil takeover, the muzzle loader enthusiasts would be of any more use than a chocolate teapot or paper fireplace. They want to ban them because theoretically some idiot could kill a person or two, not because these dorks are the thin muzzly line protecting europe's freedom.

There is no waiting period nor background check for BP arms. Also, some of the Fed rules on size and length do not apply. Anyone over 18 or 21 (depending) can but them.
"They want to ban them because theoretically some idiot could kill a person or two"
A person OR TWO? So some terrorist smuggles a Brown Bess flintlock musket into a soccer stadium under his jacket, whips it out, adds a patch, powder, and ball. Takes out the ramrod and pounds it home. Opens the pan and adds MORE powder.
All while people are standing around watching.
Then he shoulders the weapon and FIRES! Now he has to get ANOTHER patch, powder, and ball. And reload while people are standing around watching him.
I don't think that's gonna happen. Show me the records of hundreds of people in Europe killed each year with black powder weapons and MAYBE I'll believe you.
What a bizarre course of action.
It has to be under the guise of incrementalism.
First ban something most people wont object to.
LOL, I live in Scotland, the vast majority of people in the country couldn't really care whether further restrictions to gun ownership are added. We live in a country where all firearms have to be licenced. Even air rifles and air guns.
They want to ban black powder guns, fine, let them, there are so few in the country it's not worth thinking about. To underscore the example, my friend lives in texas. There are more people who own a licenced handgun within a mile of his house than in my entire country. I've no issues with that, I feel safe and gun violence is virtually zero. Would I own a handgun if I lived near him, probably yes.
Do I feel that not having access to firearms restricts my rights and freedoms, no. Am I glad that I can send my kids to school knowing that the chance of an armed man entering the building is so remote I don't have to think about it, yes.
Would I advocate the same kind of restrictions in the US, no, your situation is not comparible to ours.
And some people wonder why I'm voting for Brexit
johnnypayne - And some people wonder why I'm voting for BrexitYou wouldn't have been able to keep these guns without licence before Brexit, never mind after, so I'm not sure what your point is?
Besides there's no directive or regulation on firearms from the EU, so again, not sure I'm understanding you properly?

john joe -No, you fucking imbecile... I said when shit like this is pushed it's hard to argue that complete disarmament isn't the goal. When they seek to classify muzzleloaders as assault weapons because terrorists might use them (a fucking obsurd claim), it's had to argue against the paranoid who think they're after complete disarmament.amadeus -john joe - "complete disarmament is the goal"Not sure if just completely missing the point, or completely fucking stupid...

you proposed that "complete disarmament is the goal"
i retorted that nobody out there seriously considers this black powder musketry shit to be "armed" really, and the government certainly isn't trembling in fear about it
if that wasn't your point then you haven't framed your sentences very well because no other point stands out.
Learn to comprhension what people say you ass clown.

Lol at "Learn to comprhension what people say you ass clown."
There's not enough information here anyway. Reclassifying in the same class as assault weapons could just mean that they're classified as banned. It's not necessarily saying that there's some sort of equivalence being suggested?
