SO we should see many more europeans for the expected averages to work out. Europe is still under represented, although many of them are high on the rankings.

western europe has virtually no mma representation.. just a few good fighters like Hansen.. and up and coming allistair.

As for the comparison between Europe and the USA, we are moving more and more to a situation where Europe will be as closely controlled an economic and governmental unit as the USA is.

That said, we are a long, long way behind the popularity levels that MMA has in USA and Japan. Rowing gets higher viewing figures in the UK than MMA.

But the Russians that are doing well in MMA are European (west of the Ural mountains).

Scandinavia and the East are the dominant Euro players... Western Europe has a few names, but nothing special.

Definately USA, Brazil, Japan, Russia (I expand this to include former Soviet countries to include Igor V who is Ukranian).
