Having fought Jon Jones before, Rashad Evans has a unique perspective on teammate Anthony Johnson's upcoming fight for the light heavyweight title:

“Now if you look to take him down, good luck. You are going to be hit before you go in. Jon is very creative, and AJ has never been in there with someone as creative a striker as Jon, but let's be honest here, Jon can get hit. AJ's hardest punch is the uppercut, and I think that if they start exchanging, and they will start exchanging, he'll knock Jon out."

To back up his claims, Evans predicted an easy night for Johnson.

"Will it be early? Ya, I'd say within the first two rounds."

Since Rashad couldnt beat Jones is he admitting that AJ could knock him out? Phone Post 3.0

What a surprise. Negative comments.. Phone Post 3.0

I would like to see that. Would also be very interested to see how Jones would rebound after a loss.

Rhys91 - Lol what else is he supposed to say!? "Jon's gonna destroy my teammate" Phone Post 3.0
Yeah, "don't buy the PPV, another dominant win for JJ, nothing new here..." Phone Post 3.0

Only concern is rumble has been caught 3 times by smaller guys in chokes. Jones is crafty and likes the standing guillotine.. Phone Post 3.0

It can be argued that since Jon knows that Rumble will be throwing a lot of uppercuts, all he has to do now is employ the side step and he's good. Phone Post 3.0

Cormier landed the upper cut on Jones multiple times in the clinch its safe to say if Rumble lands the same shots it can be good night for Bones.

No one has ever even wobbled jones and I doubt that he hits that much harder then Cormier. Could he KO jones? Sure. But it won't be an uppercut from the clinch because jones stays to close where you can't really generate full power in that short of a distance. I like his odds on the feet in the first two rounds though Phone Post 3.0

This. Jones had never been rocked once in the ufc. Gonna take a lot to put him out. Phone Post 3.0

Jon sons Johnson IMO.

I think Bones will be find a way like he always does. Phone Post 3.0

Well, duh, everybody already knows that in a fierce power exchange between two strong men, anyone could go down. That will never change. This brilliant analysis unfortunately didn't benefit Rashad Evans during his fight with Jon Jones, because Jon Jones humbled him.

On the flip side, heavy hands is the lone rocket in Anthony Johnson's pocket. He's dead if the fight hits the ground. His guillotine defense is white belt level, and Jon Jones has choked out physical fighters like Rampage Jackson, Ryan Bader and Lyoto Machida.

If you look at Anthony Johnson's last 3 wins, today's standard for a hot streak, his last 3 wins have all been against some of the slowest and most plodding fighters in the UFC: Alexander Guftason, Antonio Nogueira and perhaps the slowest of them all, Phil Davis.

Not exactly Daniel Cormier, Glover Texiera or Guftafson himself in the years most Inspired Performance.

No wonder then, when the fight was announced, odds settled at +250 (Johnson) vs. -325 (Jones), according to BestFightOdds. Keep in mind, venue or date are not yet even announced.

I guess it comes down to which one you feel is more likely,

1) Jon Jones gets knocked out

2) Abthony Johnson gets choked out

What's the difference between the two?

One is a wish, based on emotion

the other is an outcome.based on circumstance

VU, you beat me to it.

That was a good punch but mainly caught Jon off balance, I wouldn't say he was really rocked, he stayed up and clinched immedeately.

Unfortunately, i see this going the same way the Rampage fight went.

Both are devastating punchers but suffer the same reach and talent disadvantage.

Johnson has a better chance than most, but its still just a punchers chance and i think Jones and Jackson will game plan Johnson to a decision.

got ya back lol

AJ for sure hits harder than Cormier Rumble is bigger and the more explosive athlete. Johnson also never had hand problems like DC. Before the Gus fight everyone was talking about his granite chin too. Oh yea and Machida tested Jones chin for sure.

Came here for pics of Evans Johnson. Was disappointed.
