Forrest controlled the pace. He did more lasting damage. He came closer to ending the fight. He advanced farther positionally on the ground. He landed a higher volume of strikes. His submission attempts were more and better. Argue with any of those points.

It was obvious. Someone that thinks they won, does not yank their arm from the ref, drop their head, and walk off pouting.

Watch it again. He had his hands up claiming victory, but with Buffer's pause - he thought the next word was going to be "STILL" UFC champion.
He didn't think he lost, he misinterpreted Buffer.

I think the key to the fight was that Forrest used a lot more lateral movement than normal. He was getting hit, but he was smart enough to not stand & brawl against Quinton. Those leg kicks took a bit of the fight out of Rampage as well.
No matter what, both of those guys are the kind of fighters that belong in the UFC. Great for the sport.
