Doesn’t sound like a sociopath. More like a typical female coworker.
I was in college and working a light manual labor job over the Summer. I complained to my Mom about my dickhead boss and she told me it was a life lesson, because you have to learn how to deal with all kinds toxic people in a career and find a way to make it work.
Shortly afterwards he murdered his wife and went to prison. He had been one of the AA grifters that talk the talk but use the program to take advantage of vulnerable women at their lowest points. He found a young nurse at a low point, very pretty, made her dependent on him, and when he couldn’t control her anymore he killed her.
Fuck her in the butt
I have, two in particular. One was a mama’s boy that dated older women he let beat the s*** out of him. He was a power keg and attacked people and slashed their tires even. He was quietly gotten rid of from the company anyway.
The other was a guy who had been in the military doing odd things for the government, like convincing people not to sue the federal government, late at night using PVC and barbed wire… He wouldn’t tell me the really bad stuff he did the people just the tamely bad stuff.
He did have people in sedans following him and watching him, I saw that when we went to lunch. Normally you think you guys full of s***, he wasn’t and he was really crazy. He got on the wrong side of another ex air Force officer and just couldn’t live with them both working at the same company so he quit. He scared me.
The first guy did not, I was hoping he would try to attack me so I could break both of his arms. I think I’m a better person now lol. Those two guys probably are not
DaveFu -holly9000 - Put some blow in her desk and tell the boss you saw her sniffling and wiping her nose. Tell him that you've seen her going in her drawers before heading to the bathroom a lot"Why did the boss install a stripper pole in his office?"
lol

This.
Most women in an office over age 35 are just awful. The older and fatter they get, the worse they are. Working with women almost always is terrible.
Record all interactions.
get her to threaten or physically attack you and then say you fear for your life from retaliation
I have worked with some psychopaths.
Dudes with no conscience whatsoever.
I am surprised a few weren't serial killers, a few were close, they used ot abuse hookers and strippers.
Guys would steal and ruin other people's lives without a second thought.
Bignightmare2 -Stinkylicious -Never worked with one but I post on a message board with many.
I know you thought that was a funny one but in truth it just made you sound like a whiny little pussy.
aaaand you step in to confirm his post. LOL
I legit was called into a closed door meeting with the owner and several other engineers and supervisors of my previous employer. We spent half the day figuring out some way to fire this scandalous bitch we hired as a replacement.
When I'm talking scandalous I'm talking the type of female employee that no one wants to even ride the elevator with her because you know eventually just sharing the same 10 ft space with her ends up with her saying such and such was hitting on her in the elevator. Not to mention that she killed the budget on almost every project we assigned her too.
Legally there was no way to let her go without her pulling some type of legal action. I made a call to another friend of mine at another start up company who was in need of engineers. I explained to him the situation and that I needed a favor. If he agree to make her an offer of employment and she accepted it. We would cover half her salary for the remainder of the year or until she was let go. Which ever occurred first. Of course there could be no paper trail and if she ever found out what had happened. Well we dont want to go there.
Long story short he made her the offer and employed her for about 3 months before he called me and said I was an asshole. He had to fire her for stealing office supplies. I kindly sent him a bottle of J.W. Blue with a note that simply read, "Pals".
Yep, he just got 228 years from the Tulare court in CA
thedogofdogs -gregbrady -remember when ppl used to get jumped for this behavior?
I do.
So does pepperedge farm

More deets, please
HillboFrateTrane -Record all interactions.

Lol this is terrible advise for so many reasons specially if OP is looking to move up in the company.
There is no need for violence or breaking arms Lolol a simple record of discussion followed by a verbal and a written will do.
Record all interactions and send them to yourself in email so the time stamp is locked in. If other have the same issue and your confident enough that they have the same trepidations as you then have them do the same. Then send (after a good amount of incidents have been recorded) to HR. They will be forced to handle it if multiple peoples jobs are being impacted negatively by one individual.
Or just leave something incriminating on her desk and have a supervisor see it.
Yes and it sit my career back years.
A lot of it, especially the quick, dramatic swings from like to dislike (splitting) sound like borderline personality is a possibility. You can see the characteristics online and see if they describe her behavior. It can help to know exactly what you are dealing with and then not be caught off-guard as easily be them.
And it's really good advice to just keep a simple file and document everything crazy she is doing with the time and date.If someone comes to you complaining about her, tell them we have a problem and to document the behavior also.
