Excellent BJJ workout!

enjoy!

Are you saying that you think those exercises will not help with your strengh, stamina, and balance that is needed for bjj??????

Great video! Thanks for sharing!

Lautaro

 you are welcome Lautaro

i wonder how long he keeps his heart rate at 180.  That's thumpin'

Awesome video, thanks for posting.  I will pretty much take anything AG does as gospel.

he is sick.  his piece in arte suave was amazing.  He is all about conditioning.

pink you must be crazy...im sure galvao only does these workouts to improve his performance in the thumb wrestling tournaments he competes in on the weekends....

"But your title stated it was a BJJ workout, it is not really at all, it does not simulate movments in bodily positions that ocur frequently in BJJ"

Did you watch the video?

1) Movement specific exercises during the little warm-up (hip switches, shrimping, rolling back go to push up etc.)

2) Movement specific exercises on the stability ball (he wasn't just balancing) involving knee-on-belly and hip switching movements to keep not only a strong core but good reaction and sensitivity for top control.

3) Movements specific exercises using a bag to drill top position switching, takedowns with resistance band in the back etc.

4) Not "move specific" but definitely BJJ S&C specific - Kettlebell circuits, weightlifting on the stability ball and balance board. In other words although these particular sets of exercises didn't drill an actual exact movement in BJJ it strengthened the muscles and cardio in a way that strains the body in a similar fashion.

His workout isn't just any ol' S&C job -- it is specifically good for BJJ.

Perhaps you just watched the stretching at the very beginning and stopped watching?

and robert bentley for the win...see you later pink ;-)

(dont you just hate people who have to just disagree with everything...)  "the sky isnt blue! its light blue!"  sadly, this forum is full of people like pink...who just disagree with any and everything anyone has to say.

Tons of those movements carry over to BJJ imo.

TTT nice work

Dude in the video is in good shape, but he looks more like a typical "gym rat", than a BJJ player.

Trust me, he may get in good shape doing that stuff, but one roll with a legit BJJ'er and he's gonna realize all those muscles are useless.

Yes Shen...Andre Galvao is going to realize that his muscles are useless against a more "legit" bjj'er

Fraid so.

Don't you know anything about the history of Gracie Jiu Jitsu?  Helio proved that a muscle bound fitness freak can be defeated by a skinny, weak opponent who masters the true Gracie technique.  Shen is exactly right with his comment.

The ignorance on this thread is mind boggling.

Agreed.

I'm afraid a lot of the noobs here DON'T know the history of GJJ and end up looking like fools when they post.
