My family came to visit my wife and I. My brother his wife and two kids (2yr and 9 mo) and my parents. Now they decided we are doing a 4 hour car trip to another national park. And since the kids are so young the wife and I got stuck with my parents. I love them but Jesus they drive me crazy. All my mom does is complain about my dad. And my dad just says repeatedly how there is nothing out here.

I knew someone on he OG would put it in perspective. My dad is 75 and my mom is 67 and they don't take care of themselves like they need to so I don't know how many times I will have to spend with them. I live half way across the country and soon I'm moving all the way across the country from them. Thanks for the perspective.
I love my dog but my wife insisting on bringing her is proving to be a mistake. She's totally neurotic after 30 minutes in a car. Every bump or speed change and the dog gets all anxious. That's adding to the fun.

i love my family and my wife's family, but for some reason, I cannot stand spending extended amounts of time with them
nothing personal against any of them, im just a bit selfish about "me" or my family (just wife and kid) time or doing what I want to do, esp on weekends and holidays
