Faber and Torres want more money

 http://www.heavy.com/post/industry-insider-trigg-tuf-wec-518

Urijah Faber has one fight remaining on his WEC contract. He and Zuffa are far apart on contract terms. The WEC's other superstar, Miguel Torres is also unhappy with his current contract. Superstar dissatisfaction is the main reason that Zuffa is considering merging the WEC into the UFC. It would give Faber and Torres bigger potential paydays on PPV.??

The Versus network, home to the WEC, was so worried that the promotion was leaving that they opened up tentative talks with Bellator, the Latino friendly group looking for a home after leaving ESPN Deportes earlier this year. As unhappy as WEC fighters are, it's nothing compared to Bellator's woebegone warriors. The promotion will be in a holding pattern through March at the earliest and in the meantime many fighters are desperate to make ends meet.

tough way to make a living

Merge the WEC with the UFC....these guys are stars.

Fighters just want to get paid and they should too.

Losing can't help either of their cases.

Faber was the WEC face, and after he lost, they were building up Torres...

Oh Well.

I think Faber is still the face of WEC.  He's a very like able guy.  Even if he isn't champ people still want to see him fight.

crazycracker71980 - THEY WANT MORE MONEY?! Im gonna say Mike Brown and Bowles are much more deserving of this case

Are you smoking something? Urijah Faber has done so much marketing for the WEC. It's unbelievable how many interviews, appearances, radio shows, and other things he has done to promote the WEC. Miguel is probably one of the only marketable fghters they have that can break them into the Mexican market. Your right though Mike and Brian do way more thing for the WEC than Urijah and MIguel have. PFFFFT.

A 135/145 TUF would be a good way to introduce the new weight classes. The fights would also be way more exciting than the HWs.

Sounds like their agents should be doing something differently.

Hard to train full time and have a second job...

they lose, THEN want more money

okaaay

The UFC/WEC merger won't happen until the contract with Versus expires or is opted out of (if they even have a conditional like that in there).
