FABIO BY KIMURA!!!

congrats man

To think, had he trained, he might have won by sonic blast!!!

Yeah! congrats Fabio. Aguzzi what about the other BTT Canada members?

Wa hah aha ha ha ha ha
that is too funny!
Didnt even train for it??
Thats Fabio right! LOL

...did he win by kimura or RNC?

kimura

it's true man, the only training he got was with me yesterday practicing some technique for half an hour while watching mario sperry instructionals on mma bjj.. luciano was alongside while all this took place...just unlimited potential, imagine he did train..he would have gone through spider like a buzzsaw through paper....not taking anything away from spider, he's a great grappler, but the crafty brazilian just shows again how truly great he is..
meu parabens fabinho.........

LOL Kimura.....
I would have never guessed! LOL
This is a sweeeeet Sunday morning.
Those Mario instructionals must have paid off.
"Now, if he's your friend, be careful with his balls, if not then Im
sorry...' LOL LOL it probably inspired Fabio

(those of you who have watched Sperry's will know.... classic.. LOL)

"the guy didn't even train for this fight and he got the kimura"

Aguzzi, I'm sure its unintentional, but your post comes off as v. disrespectful to Spider who probably DID train hard for this fight.

Congrats to Fabio beating a v. tough opponent.

The fight was awesome. Truely lived up to the hype. Spider had Fabios back ealry on and almost a choke, but the mastermind escaped and did his thing!

Great job to both competitors!

Congrats Prof. Holanda!

Great job by both competitors! Spider was dominating the whole match (I believe it was about 7 minutes) but gassed at about the 6 minute mark. Fabio later said he was thanking god that he saw him gassed! He took advantage of it and was able to get the submission. Very exciting match, and I'd love to see a rematch (I think a lot of other people would like to see it also!)

Also, lots of respect and class shown by both guys towards each other and each other's teammates (which is a lesson that could be learned by certain students of certain competitors)

Congrats to Fabio for a great win!

To say that Fabio did not train for this fight is a bit inaccurate. He has
been training for an MMA fight for the next TKO (in two weeks) so the
emphasis has been on that training, but that to say that he would ever
take Spider lightly (as shown by his fight this time) would be absurd.

Fabio was in LA at the last ADCC and saw the whirlwind that is Spider
and I remember him saying how much he was impressed by his
fighting
skills. Spider beat some guys in a stacked division and finished in the
top 4. He stepped up a weight division to fight Fabio and the extra
drain might have had an effect on his endurance.

Spider is a great fighter. This has not changed. His future is not in
doubt. Fabio won this time. It is hard for us not to be happy for him.

if they were to have a rematch, which is very likely, i would love to see this..wish i was there to see it. to read that spider was ahead in the last couple of posts, he must be something really special...
congrats to both these young fighters for puting their reputations on the line...

Wow Congrats Fabio! I'd love to see a video of this fight.

Good job Fabio !!

Congrats, A truly amazing fight!

Great match, and yes I think Spider was up 9-2
before the Kimura. Not sure so much that he was
gassed, as that he just got caught in what seems
to be a Holanda favourite move (Kimura). Everyone
gets caught, absolutely great match by both guys.

wayne-o,

Spider did tire. That sort of grappling domination would take it out of anyone. To be able to perceive the situation so accurately and capitalize as he did is a HUGE credit to Professor Holanda who is perhaps the best sportsman I have ever seen at a grappling tournament.

This was an amazing match. I would not be surprised if people would like to see it again.

Congrat to Fabio. Spider had nothing but good things to say about Fabio before and after the match.

Watching Spider win or lose is always a treat. It's a pleasure to train with him.

TTT for two amazing fighters!
