Maiquel Falcao has been fighting a really hard battle on the last days. The former UFC fighter, who recently signed a contract with Bellator, is hospitalized at Santa Casa da Misericordia of Pelotas, in Santa Catarina, after suffering a stroke during trainings./o:p
“Maiquel is still on the Intensive Care Unit and might stay there for few more days, when he’ll go through a catheterization. He’s lucid and improving fast”, his manager Marcelo Brigadeiro told TATAME on Wednesday./o:p
That sucks. Say what you want to about him, he's an animal in a cage. The three people I know who have had strokes that were younger had either diabetes or high blood pressure.

EPO abuse significantly increases the risk of stroke as well

Yeah, it's on the list. An overabundance of red blood cells from extended use (gots to donate blood!). I won't hypothesize on Falcao's specific reason. There's definitely other things that will enhance your risk though.
He "only" suffered a heart attack actually. Obviously still a serious health problem, but one with a much better prognosis, if you don't die, which he hasn't of course.
