They are shit. They only work as placebos. Phone Post

I use thermogenics to increase my metabolism and increase sweating. I listened to an increasing piece on NPR about "fat burning" and it provided interesting context.

Fat is "burned" by forcing the body to reach into its stores to find energy. As fat is "burned" the excess, the part we don't need and often trying to lose, exits the body during exhalation! So why is this relevant? Because if you aren't working hard, your heart rate isn't increasing and you're not breathing hard. If you're not breathing hard, you're probably not working hard enough to "burn" fat.

So back to thermogenics. They work, provided you're not hypersensitive to high doses of vitamins and caffeine. I use a relatively inexpensive one, Thermoburst by GNC. The recommended dose is three EVERYDAY. I take take 2, but only on the days that I work out - which is five days a week. They give me energy, raise my heartrate, help me push through my workouts and increase my sweat by 20-40%. I've lost about 20lbs since incorporating thermogenics into my workout of lifting, 5K runs and stretching.

GNC's thermogenic is always on sale.

If you have high blood pressure or at risk for heart conditions you can't take a thermogenic.

i've heard good things lately about oxy elite pro. just started taking it myself 4 days ago. decreased appetite with no jitters. two a day.

Eating several small meals during the day doesn't work for most people. I'm one of them. It's way too much work. If I could recommend something in addition to using a thermogenic I would suggest you NOT eat after 7:30pm until its completely vegetable or fruit based.

I took that but didn't notice much difference. I just got off Lipo-6 Black Ultra Concentrate and DID notice with that.

It is really that hard to keep a bag of raw unsalted almonds in your pocket, along with some fresh fruit and a some raw veges?

In regards to the 730 pm thing, Its very important to eat a slow absorbing protein before you go to sleep to keep your metabolism going over night. Cottage cheese, casein, etc. Starving yourself overnight is the same as doing it during the day. By the time you wake up for breakfast, your body has already gone into the storage mode.

Another tip is I never eat protein first thing in the morning, I eat oatmeal or wheat bran, along with some fresh fruit, then I do my morning workout, come back and eat some eggs, cottage cheese etc.

I also try to always eat my fruit about 15 minutes before I eat any carbs/ protein because otherwise it starts to frement in your stomach.

Eat a slow absorbing protein before bed? If he is asking about thermogenics, he is concerned about weight loss - eating a protein before bed is absolutely the wrong advice.

I'm a vegetarian. I can't account for anyone else, but I already eat lots of veggies and nuts etc. I run a business, I have a family - I got shit to do all day. I don't have time for small meals all day.

And a bag of almonds aint 'gonna cut it. lol I'm 6'1" and currently weigh 188lbs. I workout five times a week. I need a MEAL. An actual meal at regular intervals. I do however splurge on pre and post workout drinks with protein and vitamins. I also take a daily vitamin.

The almonds don't have to "cut it" they are meant to keep your metabolism going until your MEAL. I too am 6'1 188-192 and weight train 5 times a week so i understand the need for major calories, but there's no need to go 4 or 5 hours without a bite of food.

On the topic of thermogenics...they are a huge waste of money and without a good diet and a decent amount of weights and cardio you won't see a difference. BUT if you exercise and eat right without pills you'll still see results....you see what's causing results??

OxyElite Pro worked wonders for me. I started out with an all natural green tea one and it was okay but OEP was great. Just make sure you cycle it properly, a lot of caffeine and messes with your appettite a little bit Phone Post

why no protein in the morning? and also, are sea salted almonds ok?

i have a shake in the morning along with lean chicken breast, and eat every 3 hours... im not sure if its a lack of sufficient cardio, but cant get beyond the top 2 parts of my six pack... my cardio is a mile and a half run after doing weights (4 times a week).. should i be doing more in order to get my bodyfat at around 8 percent?

Thank me later

  1. If it's ever been banned, I don't use it.

    2. Thermogenics work for SOME people.

    3. Thermogenics worked/s for me.

    4. I eat my first protein about 9am. I avoid everything except fruit, raw vegetables and soy yogurt after 7:30pm. Even if it means "feeling hungry".

    5. I try to drink 60-70 oz of water daily. 90-120 on workout days.

    6. If you've never had a colonic and you eat meat, try one. You have 5-15 lbs of undigested meat in your colon as we speak. And its lowering your energy levels. When it comes out, ask to see it. You will be a believer.
