What are your favorite combination attacks. this can be from guard, mount, side, knee on belly... they can be as simple or flashy as you like.
Mine is from side control, under hook his far arm, and lock his wrist to your neck. attack the elbow with the reverse arm lock. if that doesn't work, spin to n/s for kimura or all the way around to jujigatame (straight arm lock)
From the "scissor open guard" (top shin diagonally across the chest, other foot on hip, grab head and elbow) - let's say that my RIGHT shin is across his chest:
Scissor sweep if his hips raise up from his heels.
Hip bump on his left arm if his butt is down and he leans back.
Triangle by pushing his right wrist into his chest if his head is somewhat low.
Armbar on his right arm (my left hand cups his right tricep and my right arm hooks his left leg) if he stands up and/or I lose the grip on his head, or even when he tries to ankle lock my right ankle.
From side-control, I like to go for the top wristlock (aka keylock) and if they resist that (usually by bringing their other arm around and grabbing their own wrist) I'll go north-south and pop up to my knees and attack the opposite arm via Kimura. If they grip up tightly, I like to fall to my side and get the head scissors.
Rainman, I'm with you, that's still my favourite if they posture high. If they posture down I focus on Dean Listers Triangle from rubber guard or sliding out and taking their back depending on how they react as I go for the underhook.
More combos from the guard, this time the closed guard:
He's got high posture. I brush his lead wrist to the side and sit up into the hip bump position. He leans a bit forwards so he doesn't get swept. I wrap my arm around his head for a guillotine, but it's a fake. As soon as he tries to grab my wrist, I switch back to the hip bump, because in many cases his bodyweight will go backwards in order to extract his head from the guillotine.
Same as above, but when I go for the guillotine and he grabs my arm, I fall backwards and throw my leg on that side over his shoulder, let go of the guillotine and now I'm in a triangle position.
He goes for the double under pass. I get both butterfly hooks in to stop it. Immedially I sit up for the guillotine. As soon as he grabs my arm, I scoot my hips out a bit and elevator sweep him.
One combo from the mount:
I sit up in a vertical posture and drive my fist into his throat with an extended arm. I pull my arm out quickly if I feel an upa coming. If he pulls my arm away or blocks it, I will just drive my other fist into his throat. This is extremely annoying for the guy on the bottom and while I'm doing this, I walk my knees up high under his armpits. It's one of the best ways I know these days to get into a high mount. From there I usually switch to an "s-mount" and armbar the poor guy.
Double Attack from the Mount. Push one of their arms down for the Americana with both of your hands..This...turns them up on their side.....when they defend, attack the other arm with a straight arm bar. Works everytime!!
