Favorite Podcasts/Radio shows?

Mad Xyientist -
savage animal -  well, after several attempts, my work computer is not liking the live stream, how soon are the mmajunkie radio shows archived? I had no prob. listening to the archived show.

Usually the same day.  If you want to listen to good archived ones, go back to the shows from the week of UFC 100.  They're entertaining as hell and very insightful.

thanks for all of the nice comments. i wanted to point out that our shows are video archived as well, especially cool on them days when we have in studio guests. as of late:

gonzaga, johny hendricks, jake rosholt, shane roller, phil baroni, justin mccully, master toddy, leonard garcia, reed harris and demian maia.

Well, since this thread began, archived MMAjunkie Radio (previous days show in the AM, current day's show as soon as it's archived in the PM) has become my new go-to for entertainment at work every day. My office computer rejects the live stream after less than a minute, so I am going the archived route. I am enjoying this show, especially the airing of live press conference calls and the constant influx of timely interviewees.

Josh Gross' weekly SI podcast, Gross Point Blank, is great as expected, as Josh sets the standard for mma journalism. This show is now a definite for me every Tuesday at work.

Speaking of standard bearers, correct me if I'm wrong, but there seems to be no Dave Meltzer podcast/radio show available without a purchased subscription to The Wrestling Observer (same reason I am not listening to The Economist podcasts daily). I did listen to The Fight Network for Meltzer's short segment on LAW (Live Audio Wrestling) this week. A Dave Meltzer show would be very welcome, Yahoo Sports, make it happen!

I have also listened to audio archived from Tapout radio and picked up good information from an interview with Scott Coker there, they were not afraid to ask the tough questions, so this show is on my radar as well.

Thanks UG!

I was going to start this exact same thread today...just did a search and found your's Savage Animal.

For what it's worth, I am now listening regularly to:

1) Fightworks Podacst -- almost strictly a BJJ oriented podcast, and not daily.  Seems to come out once a week or two.  Very informative and lots of top BJJ guys intereviewed.

2) Tap Out Radio -- has a couple of regular UG'ers and lots of great MMA fighers as guests.  It seems to update just about every day or two on my Ipod, so it's almost always fresh.

I'm gonna have to check out MMA Junkie radio and the Josh Gross show you mentioned.

MMA Junkie Radio (formerly Tagg) is the best one. Great chemistry, humor, listener involvement, interviews and breaking news (thanks to Jon Morgan).

From Sherdog, Beatdown is probably the best and most focused on MMA. Savage Dog Show is funny but goes off topic a lot. Jordan Breen show is good if you sit around and watch youtube videos all day of MMA from around the world.

Carsons Corner is almost all interviews. The interviews are well done though sometimes with obscure guests.

MMA Nation w/Luke Thomas is an actual radio show. Hes kind of obnoxious like Breen but at least spends more time on mainstream topics. The only bad thing is his show is on saturday afternoons prior to UFC or other Saturday night events. If you dont listen live than the show is already made irrelevant by nighttime.

These are some of the ones i have in my bookmarks. Ill switch it up every now and then to stay fresh but i always try and catch Junkieradio

I would say Junkie Radio is the best one out there. Great they have all their archived stuff there. The show is nice and long (2-3 hours) so you can have it in the background while you work. They have a great sense of humour but also balance it with some great information. Goze is pretty hilarious on the soundboard, George has some interesting perspecitve on things, John Morgan brings in some good inside information when hes on a lead, and Frank was good too to start some drama. I thought with Trigg gone it might lose some steam but he addition of John Morgan was great!

Carsons corner is another nice one. Hes not a joking type but really digs in the interview and its informative. Its usually like 40 minutes or something. He pretty much gets straight to the interview after a short recap of things.

Tapout radio has some great humour and its a pretty relaxed scene

So far I listen to pretty much all the Sherdog shows, minus Sunday School, sometimes Tapout for the interviews and once or twice Tagg also for the interviews.

My favourite of all of them by far is Breen. Mainly because he seems to be the only one who offers any technical analysis of fights. Perhaps no-one else is confident enough to do this? But he breaks down fighters' styles, strentghs and weaknesses, compares them to others, isn't afraid to make bold predictions. If anyone knows of other shows on this level, please let me know because I'd love to hear more. His is the only show I know of thus far that actually treats MMA as a sport and discusses the science and technique behind it, rather than just generalistic generic banter like 'who do you think won fight of the night etc'. He mixes in humour and self-depreciation to keep it fun and once you get past his at first overly opinionated manner, he's a really great listen.

Beatdown is good also, I like that show for the more general approach to the sport, talking about the business end of the sport with more comedy, etc.

Tapout is great for the interaction with it's audience, it's like the UG's own radio station. I'll admit I used to hate it, but I've come round to seeing it in a different light and appreciate their efforts to get the audience involved.

Redneck - ttt

I have only been listening a few days and I already have "redneck here" stuck in my head.  And damn Crooklyn and Shoman for giggling their ass off everytime you say it too....lol good stuff but sheesh GET IT OUT OF MY HEAD!!!  lol

Anybody know if Junkie radio is available on Itunes?  How about the Sherdog shows?

Man Junkie radio has all the fighters on there. They didn't miss a beat when Trigg left for the UFC.
