WASHINGTON (CIRCA) - Intelligence sources say that the FBI investigated a computer tied to Donald Trump's business but there's no evidence to date that would warrant criminal charges against any of the president’s associates

This is being reported on ABC news right now

Yup. This has been out there almost since this story broke. That's why Graham and team are trying to subpoena the FISA warrants and find out who requested them and why.

U.S. officials say a months-long FBI counterintelligence investigation into Russian attempts to manipulate the U.S. election, did not bring up enough evidence to charge anyone criminally, according to a report from Circa.

Agents who investigated claims of computer server activity tied to Russia and then President-elect-Trump’s businesses in New York’s Trump Tower came to the conclusion that no disreputable contacts, financial transactions or encrypted communications occurred with the Russians, according to Circa.

Those in the intelligence community who spoke to the outlet appeared to be frustrated over the representation in the media of their investigation of Russia’s activities.

“We have people spouting off who don’t know the difference between FISA surveillance and a wiretap or a counterintelligence probe versus a special prosecutor criminal case, and it has hurts our ability to get to the truth and has wrongly created the impression that intelligence officials have a political agenda,” said one source directly familiar with the situation.

According to the report, a number of sources claimed the FBI wanted to investigate Russia’s influence peddling in the 2016 election as a result of past investigations into the nation’s spying in the U.S.

More importantly, Circa’s report stresses that Americans routinely are incidentally intercepted when the FBI monitors foreign individuals like Russian embassy officials. Then-soon-to be National Security Adviser General Michael Flynn was an American who was incidentally intercepted during his conversations with the Russian ambassador to the U.S.

A warrant was not necessary to review his conversations because it was a national security matter and Flynn had a security clearance, sources told Circa.

The calls and text messages from last December to the ambassador were essentially holiday wishes and condolences for tragedies that had happened in Russia at the time. Another conversation, via text message about talking on the phone, was about sanctions imposed on Russia by the Obama administration in late December.

“But the message the American official gave was mostly that a new sheriff was about to take over the White House and Russians shouldn’t react to the new sanctions in a way that would foreclose better dialog in the future under a Trump administration, sources said,” Circa reported.

Who leaked Flynn’s name to the media? The leaks began in January after President Barack Obama changed a long time executive order that enabled information intercepted from FISA warrants or by the National Security Agency to be pooled out to 16 other federal agencies

Such sensitive information is normally given to eight top leaders in Congress, who are regularly briefed by the intelligence community about classified matters. But after president Obama changed the executive order before he left office, a massive number of staff throughout the government had access to the information.

I think we already know it was Obama through Loretta Lynch

In to hear how this doesn't count as wiretapping. :)

Where does it say Obama ordered Trumps wires to be tapped?

If this Circa story from the OP is correct it totally destroys the Russian narrative.

So the FBI, in addition to the NSA and CIA were also listening/watching?

ABCTT Mr Lea -

Guaranteed this would have made it into Obama's briefings. Whether he personally ordered it, (which is impossible to prove or disprove) there's no way he didn't know about it; and he should have seen the impropriety of this and stopped it.

Absolutely. He didn't "order" it but he approved it or at least let it continue, which is also tacit approval.

How WHAT doesn't count as wiretapping, you goddamn dummy?

Comes into a thread, doesn't read the article, but feels compelled to post some bullshit because you mistakenly assume the article supports your chosen agenda.

From OP's article:

Officials stressed there were no intercepts of Trump’s phone or emails.

Separately, they used traditional investigative techniques to review a computer server

When there's a news story that is "according to intelligence sources" there's too many leaps of faith to take anything as truth. We know the media lies, but even if there is indeed a source, we also know the intelligence agencies lie.

That's like rather than listening to a phone call by intercepting it as it travels between the two parties, instead putting the device directly on the phone and then claiming it isn't the same thing.

Oooh sheeeet....

BREAKING: DIRTY Harry Reid COLLUDED With James Comey In Trump Tower Wiretapping! Here Is The PROOF!

By

March 6, 2017

Democrats have been calling Trump a liar over his accusations that Obama wiretapped Trump tower. Just yesterday, Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper denied the claim that the Obama administrations was monitoring Trump’s New York home.

In an exclusive interview on Sunday’s “Meet The Press”, Clapper told Chuck Todd,

“There was no such wiretap activity mounted against the president, the president-elect at the time, or as a candidate, or against his campaign,”

But just like Clapper lied about spying on millions of Americans, it looks like he is also lying about wiretapping Trump.

In fact, many top Democrats are claiming they didn’t know that Trump was under surveillance, but correspondence between Harry Reid and James Comey tell a different story.

“Former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid admitted several times, both before and after the election, that some form of surveillance of the Trump campaign was ongoing, and that the intelligence community had told him this as fact.”

In a letter written by Harry Reid to FBI director James Comey,  Reid accuses Comey of possessing explosive information. He even stated that he’s been asking Comey to release the information to the public…

“In my communications with you and other top officials in the national security community, it  has become clear that you possess explosive information about close ties and coordination between Donald Trump, his top advisors, and the Russian government – a foreign interest openly hostile to the United States, which Trump praises at every opportunity,” he said. “I wrote to you months ago calling for this information to be released to the public…and yet, you continue to resist calls to inform the public of this critical information.”

If that wasn’t bad enough, the Washington Post wrote in October:

“Reid is saying that he has been told the FBI has evidence of possible collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russian government.

And he’s not just saying this information came from mysterious and unnamed national security officials; he’s saying Comey himself has left him with this impression.”

It seems the only real “collusion” is between Harry Reid and James Comey to take Trump down.

Yes but the FBI is different in this case
