national champion wrestlers : randleman, coleman, fujita
k1 champions : semmy schilt, mark hunt
adcc champions : arona, monson
olympic judo medalists : ishii, ogawa
...
has anyone beat anywhere near the amount of eclectic fighters that fedor has?
id be really interested to see how Fedor, Cro Cop and Nog from 2003-2005 era would do against todays heavyweights.
Seeing a guy like JDS be able to use Boxing and takedown defense in this era of supposed 265 athletic heavys that are all so well rounded makes me think they would all be capable of fighting for the title.
Those 3 guys were ahead of their time. Dont think you could take anyone from that era of 03-05 put them in their division now and argue they could win a title.
It's true he beat lots of guys who were very good at one dimension. You might even say he beat lots of one-dimensional guys.

A one dimensional guy is the heavy weight champ.
irishrottie - id be really interested to see how Fedor, Cro Cop and Nog from 2003-2005 era would do against todays heavyweights.Mark Hunt is on a run right now. Those three guys in their prime could absolutely contend with the best.

I am not a PRIDE nuthugger but I truly believe that the top end of that division was one of the greatest concentrations of talent this sport has ever seen.

officedrone23 - It's a shame none of them were MMA champions.Big Nog?
Except Arlovski and Sylvia of course. Guys who only had each other when the rest of the division was weak.

I see nothing from J2S, Cain and Mir/Overeem/Werdum to suggest that the HW division has progressed from Fedor's era. Junior is like Cro Cop without the striking background, kicks and cardio, and he's far and away the top HW.
Im positive that Fedor and Nog in top form would be just as successful against today's HWs as they were in their own prime.
TTT
Fight the ignorant haters.

Okay some post the video of the pros saying was the best most well rounded! KO Andrei and Rogers, Subbed a ton of fighters. WTF do these posters come from.
It's the Dana led troll war on Fedor! AS trolls carrying the weight for the group IMO.
officedrone23 - It's a shame none of them were MMA champions.he's 7-0 against ufc champs.

Coleman 2x
Randleman
Nog 2x
Sylvia
Arlovski

Prime Nog, Fedor, and Cro Cop from their PRIDE days are everybit a match for JDS, Cain, Overeem...not to mention Werdum and Murr. I'd put Prime Josh Barnett, whenever that is/was in the same category w/ Fedor and the rest. He can hang.
I see Prime Fedor blasting through Cain and going to war w/ JDS...and being quite a bit faster than both w/ more power.
oh wow, another thread arguing how great Fedor was. Are fans really that insecure they need to get their point across over and over and over? ...
And if the GOAT argument doesn't work, then try something like "he's beat the most eclectic group of fighters". Okay, he has, he's the GOATEO (GOAT of Eclectic Opponents), feel better? :)

Well who beat better? Anyone can say anything! Where is your argument. Yea, U got none AT ALL right?

youre clearly a grizzled, time-worn veteran of following this sport.
Japanese pro wrestlers!!!!!
UGCTT_Reco Groman - Congratulations! This thread has been selected as the Fedor "Thread of the Day"! <img src="/images/phone/apple.png" alt="Phone Post" border="0" style="vertical-align:middle;"/>
haha
Lol at celebrating the ability to beat one trick ponies!..not saying that is all he can beat, I definitely think he is still the HW goat, but what a dumb thing glorify.
And a guy with outstanding boxing with takedown defense to stuff the best wrestlers will have a chance at a title in any era...What more do you need?
