Feds Attack TOR With Malware

think you are safe with TOR? Think again.

What is it going to take for a real revolution?

I have Tor on my Droid 2 phone. It's been going haywire lately. Phone Post

FRAT version. The largest hosting group of child porn, Freedom Hosting, was raided and had their servers taken down. When they were taken down, a "system maintenance" message displayed along with a hidden java script exploit.

Complete story:

...

This is not a direct attack on TOR, but an attack on specific group of tor users who visit child porn sites, using an exploit in the TOR browser bundle.

...

We are so fucked

And the NSA were only spying on terrorists.

Jack, what do you take issue with.

Taking down Freedom Hosting, which hosted child porn.

Or trying to ID those who visited those child porn sites?

I oppse the government using any power to spy on anyone until they stop violating the constitution. If they really want to get these pedos, then first go back in time and make sure you don't use the powers that we entrusted them with on us.

Now, I don't trust them with such power & see that it always leads to these powers being used against the citizens.

It's always "Only for the terrorists!" or "Only for the pedophiles"

ID'ing those that visit a child porn site, is spying to you?

Having a way to ID those that don't visit a child porn site is spying to me.

And, once again, once we give this government a pass to "only use it on terrorists and pedophiles", then they will be using it on everyone. That is their record. that is their history. That is all thta can be expected of them from from here on

We now know encrypted traffic is archived by the NSA by default, especially those going overseas. Tor relays are both domestic and international, do the math.

I just can't think of a good reason to use Tor for privacy right now. Except maybe to do unimportant things and be counted among the Tor horde, which is a reasonable argument.

The government funds TOR just to let you guys know.

These undetectable malware.

I am sure the anti-malware companies are in cahoots with the security states.

All your data belongs to them, you belong to them.

I know right. I've thought forever they produced viruses but they are obviously letting this shit slide through the cracks. Next will be torrent sites. Phone Post 3.0

Really this I did not know.
I just assumed it was the interwebs freedoms =)

I do agree with jack though.
If they REALLY wanted to do something about pedos they would only need a team of 2 dudes in each of those countries that has trouble controlling the market like thailand and the Phillipines or wherever else maybe Russia I don't know. They would know EXACTLY where and im sure the local government would fully support the help.

Stop it at the human end not the photos! Phone Post

I set up my VMs to act as TOR gateways for exactly this kind of reason. Can never trust out of date software. Plus it allows me to run my off shore VPN, which doesn't keep logs, in conjunction with TOR. Fuck you American spies!!!

This is what worries me about anything that you have to sign up to. Like locker storage or cloud services all that shit.

I mean you have enough programs you sign into your profile and details are there regardless of IP etc.. Phone Post
