Feds Attack TOR With Malware

Anything in Cloud, I would think is something you want to share with the world. Encryption, likely the publicly available ones have been cracked long ago.

O rly?

I'm awaiting your lesson on cryptography.

TOR noob here. Can you just surf the web like you normally will using TOR or is it just for specific TOR websites?

Sadly I don't see there being a revolution in the US. Too many sheep and the government is already too big and powerful.

And the line is already out the door with people wanting a government job enforcing this retard system Phone Post 3.0

I just wanna buy weed on internets.  Can do?

If you are in possession of sufficient amount of weed, you can be imprisoned for 10 years and possibly life depending on the other "crimes" committed during weed possession. Consecutive sentencing, glorious. 3rd strike, bye bye.

War on Drugs putting Americans is jail for minor garbage.

Injustice system is truly fucked. Almost exclusively, only people who have convicted significant violent crimes must be in jail. The rest, fines, community services, rehab...

I was wondering when this would happen. It's poisoning the well. I expect it to happen to torrent sites, too. Phone Post 3.0

Put a truecrypt container inside of your cloud storage, and you are 100% good to go.

PS, microsoft providing backdoor access is not the same as cracking aes-256

As long as the real location of Silk Road remains a mystery, this can not happen there.

But I wonder if some high bandwidth ddos attack with Tier 1 ISP monitoring, could expose the location.

TheParrot - Jack, what do you take issue with.

Taking down Freedom Hosting, which hosted child porn.

Or trying to ID those who visited those child porn sites?

Freedom Hosting hosted the majority of the sites on the deepweb. This includes Tormail. Tormail has been compromised and it had nothing whatsoever to do with child pornography. They launched an attack on countless individuals who were NOT attempting to access CP.

Your post infuriates me.

I really can't believe that there are still people who trust the government AND want to give the even more power not to mention ascribe to "the ends justify the means". I hate pedos as much as the next person (actually maybe more) I have kids, but anything the government can and would use against criminals/terrorists you better believe it can and will be used against us, the citizen. If you think any different, you obviously have not been paying attention the past few weeks since the Snowden leaks.

I am no computer nerd, I am sure they will find some workarounds.

"Stanford University computer scientist David Mazières told CNET that mastering encrypted communications would “include an order to extract them from the server or network when the user logs in–which has been done before–or installing a keylogger at the client.”

"This is precisely what Microsoft has already done with its SkyDrive cloud storage service “which now has 250 million users worldwide” and exabytes of data ready to be pilfered, as The Guardian disclosed."

Good article on this. The attack sent users' IP addresses to a defense contractor named SAIC.

I dink around with TOR just as a curiosity from time to time and because I support the idea of anonymity on the web -- I hadn't done enough research apparently.  If some guy just walked up and said that the US government paid the lion's share of ongoing costs for the TOR project I would have said it was a kooky conspiracy theory and too far fetched.

I've never in my life looked for child pornography and I never will, and I have a right to read whoever's voice I choose regardless of where it's published.  The information I choose to consume is not for anyone else's scrutiny unless there is serious reason to believe that breaching my privacy can prevent actual harm to other people.  As long as it only affects me, that information is mine and no one else's unless I choose otherwise.

I voted for Obama and I was willing to excuse some things about him because I thought there wasn't anyone better on the horizon, but this is inexcusable.  Even if we take him at his word that he's only using this ungodly amount of power for pure good, it's never going away.  I believe that there was a chance that Obama was in this for good at first, and it's already corrupted him.  It just goes downhill from here.

Do people really think the nsa/fbi/cia etc weren't knuckle deep in TOR long before this?

Law Enforcement is not going to log into each server and check to see the contents of it. Freedom Hosting hosted large quantities of child porn, and no one should take issue with taking them down.

Tor Mail should have chosen a better hosting company. There is still no reason they can't bring their website back up elsewhere.

Given that numerous powerful US senators publicly called for Silk Road to be shut down immediately and ain't shit happened, no, they weren't "knuckle deep" in it.
